I'm disappointed at the civility being shown so far.dbackjon wrote:Bulldogs look to make CCU's last FCS game a miserable one.
Grrr...that's no funIbanez wrote:I'd talk smack but given the way Coastal has played...I'm not sure they can back it up.

Yeah if yall win the next to and go to Jax State....you'll have faced chickens in 3 out of 4 games. And 1 pirate with a sword and gun and rum bottle who loots and rapes and steals and kills.....representing a Christian school. Quite a run of mascots.CitadelGrad wrote:
TBH I have no idea how this one is going to go. We played lights out last week and I've never seen us string two performances together back to back before, except maybe Wofford-Samford.Mvemjsunpx wrote:One team is making their first playoff appearance in 23 years. The other team is making their final playoff appearance for the foreseeable future. The winner gets a rematch with a team that beat them. Anyway… CCU has home field & playoff experience on their side, but The Citadel has the superior defense & they've definitely looked like the better team since the beginning of October. I'll take the Bulldogs in a close one.
Here's my assessment of the matchups & my pick for the game:
- Quarterbacks -- Coastal Carolina
Running Backs - The Citadel
Receivers/TEs - Coastal Carolina
Offensive Line - The Citadel
Defensive Line - The Citadel
Linebackers --- The Citadel
Secondary ---- The Citadel
Kicking ------ (push)
Punting ------ (push)
Return Teams - Coastal Carolina
Kickoffs ------ Coastal Carolina
- The Citadel 27-24 Coastal Carolina

But- this team may not have been to the playoffs since 1992, but this coaching staff was at the D-II national championship in 2013 and made the playoffs for three consecutive years- so they know how to prepare for the postseason and lord know they know how to prepare these cadets.
My only prediction is that it will be a good game, and there is a 100% chance that CSU will have a rematch game.
cheap, baptists bastards.bucs90 wrote:CID1990 wrote:

The CSU ticket office is already swarmed. Get this....they said Buc Club tickets on sale now, general public tickets on sale November 30th. .....and "standing room only" tickets on sale all the way through halftime and they made sure to note CSU welcomes "beach style chairs" hahaha!!!
That is so "us"....BYOS...bring your own seat.
I'd hoped we would rent 5000 extra bleachers or something. But why do that?? Just BYOS!!! Go Bucs!!!
It's so us.Ibanez wrote:cheap, baptists bastards.bucs90 wrote:

But hey....we probably set the FCS record for home sellouts hahaha!!!!
Suppers? Hell....in 2 weeks we'll have Division 1s first pot luck stadium!! Permanent bleachers. Rented bleachers. Lawn chairs. Pickup truck beds.CitadelGrad wrote:And pot luck suppers.bucs90 wrote:

CSU should allow cherry pickers. I know for a fact some El Cid grads would bring them, because they used to do it over by the tennis center at JHS right at their tailgate! Just grab a beer, then get on the cherry picker and raise up over the wall and watch the game.bucs90 wrote:Suppers? Hell....in 2 weeks we'll have Division 1s first pot luck stadium!! Heck....maybe we'll get some luxury executive suites....by parking a bunch of RVs around our track. Jerry Jones stadium ain't got **** on us!!!
But...somehow someway....we haven't lost much in that dump haha!!! 18-3 at home since 2012.
Who knows...maybe we rent 100 of those and that becomes our upper deck!CID1990 wrote:CSU should allow cherry pickers. No problem. I like the bowl name. It's catchy.93henfan wrote:The Citadel is on a roll, so I pick them to win the seersucker and bow tie bowl. Sorry Mark.
The Citadel/Coastal/CSU trilogy this year should be called the Waffle House State Championship.Ibanez wrote:No problem. I like the bowl name. It's catchy.93henfan wrote:The Citadel is on a roll, so I pick them to win the seersucker and bow tie bowl. Sorry Mark.
Well played.bucs90 wrote:The Citadel/Coastal/CSU trilogy this year should be called the Waffle House State Championship.Ibanez wrote:

Trophy should be a pile of bronzed hash browns.

El Cid wins on a 47-yd FG with no time left.
