Stitt stayed at Mines for 15 years. I doubt he's leaving Missoula after 1.

Yeah, and I imagine he'd prefer to hold out for a better gig than Iowa State.Mvemjsunpx wrote:Stitt stayed at Mines for 15 years. I doubt he's leaving Missoula after 1.

Iowa State would be better off hiring Chris Klieman.Grizalltheway wrote:Yeah, and I imagine he'd prefer to hold out for a better gig than Iowa State.Mvemjsunpx wrote:Stitt stayed at Mines for 15 years. I doubt he's leaving Missoula after 1.

If Montana wins the Championship this year, who knows. I see the Griz as one of the possible contenders with Gustafson back.

Re: Interesting...
I think the Griz are a lot more plausible than the typical 7-4 team, but there's a long way to go. The Griz probably have a 50/50 shot in Fargo if Wentz is still out, but a potential rematch with PSU worries me the most. The Vikings match up with the Griz really well.Gil Dobie wrote:If Montana wins the Championship this year, who knows. I see the Griz as one of the possible contenders with Gustafson back.

Mines-Montana-Big12 in a two year stretch and he gets to pick and choose his P5 job?Grizalltheway wrote:Yeah, and I imagine he'd prefer to hold out for a better gig than Iowa State.Mvemjsunpx wrote:Stitt stayed at Mines for 15 years. I doubt he's leaving Missoula after 1.

Huh? All I'm saying is there's no point in leaving what he has after one year if all that awaits him is Iowa State.kalm wrote:Mines-Montana-Big12 in a two year stretch and he gets to pick and choose his P5 job?Grizalltheway wrote: Yeah, and I imagine he'd prefer to hold out for a better gig than Iowa State.

Right, especially since some columnist is randomly writing "Hire Bob Stitt!" every few months or so.kalm wrote:But these type of rumors might be just a tad premature.

Re: Interesting...
In general I agree with you. What's his paycheck at Montana? Iowa State will probably pay at least $1.5 million. Plus he would probably get a 5 year deal with a guaranteed payout. Rhoads got fired and will get paid $4.5 million for it. Might make it worth going to Iowa State.Grizalltheway wrote:Yeah, and I imagine he'd prefer to hold out for a better gig than Iowa State.Mvemjsunpx wrote:Stitt stayed at Mines for 15 years. Viks/Griz with a healthy Gustafson and no rain--totally different game.Mvemjsunpx wrote:I think the Griz are a lot more plausible than the typical 7-4 team, but there's a long way to go. The Griz D has trouble with their offense and PSU has the best pass D in the league, so it's still a bad matchup.AZGrizFan wrote:Viks/Griz with a healthy Gustafson and no rain--totally different game.Mvemjsunpx wrote:

Re: Interesting...
Funny how the last time the Griz played in Portland, people thought the Griz QB at that time was pretty dang good, after throwing for 6 TDs the previous game. A lot of talk about how many TDs he was going to have against us. But after that 1st quarter, when his favorite receiver seemed to be Onwuasor, all of a sudden you didn't hear how great he was.AZGrizFan wrote:Viks/Griz with a healthy Gustafson and no rain--totally different game.

You guys have a long road ahead with two tough Mo Valley teams in front of you. We have an equally challenging task with either another tough Mo Valley team or a strong Ohio Valley team. Let's save this for another time, as it might not happen this year.

Much worse matchup when we had to throw in a QB who seemed to stare down every target, leading to a crippling 3-interception 1st quarter.Mvemjsunpx wrote:The Griz D has trouble with their offense and PSU has the best pass D in the league, so it's still a bad matchup.AZGrizFan wrote:
