The bison have been incredibly lucky with a lack of injuries during the entire run. If their O-line or D-line ever gets decimated like we've seen happen to some teams (EWU, MSU in recent years come to mind), I think they're done. And unless their freshman finds a passing game, I think their days might be done with Wentz gone...

Stick doesn't seem as talented as Wentz. Still, their defense doesn't lose a whole lot this time.

The last 5 seasons NDSU is 15-0 at home in the playoffs. Don't see them losing at home. The last time they played a road playoff game? 2010 @ EWU in the qtr finals. The last time lost a road playoff game? 2010 @ EWU in the quarterfinals.

Last 4 seasons NDSU regular season
2011: 10-1/7-1 #2 seed
2012: 10-1/7-1 #1 seed
2013: 11-0/8-0 #1 seed
2014: 10-1/7-1 #2 seed
2015 9-2/7-1 #3 seed
If they finish 10-1 again they will be a top 2 seed and will likely 6 peat..

They play @ Iowa next season. Now during their streak of 5 straight wins over a I-A they have beaten:
2010 Kansas (3-9)
2011 Minnesota (3-9)
2012 Col State (4-8)
2013 Kansas St (8-5) (2012 was 11-2, lost Fiesta Bowl)
2014 Iowa St (2-10)
Iowa was 12-2 last season, lost Rose Bowl. I imagine next season they'll be at least as good as the 2013 Kansas State team, likely better. So I'm going to go out on a limb and say Iowa beats NDSU and NDSU loses their usual 1 MVFC game to finish 9-2/7-1.

Like I said, for NDSU not to 6 peat someone needs to get them away from the Fargo Dome in the playoffs. That can only possibly happen if NDSU is seeded #3 like this past season or lower. If #2 ILSU had beaten UR then NDSU would have been @ ILSU in the semis. Now because of who they are, a 9-2 NDSU would be seeded ahead of any other 9-2 team, unless it was a fellow MVFC that they lost head to head to. Also maybe ahead of some 10-1 too. For NDSU to be seeded #3 like this year there will have to be two 10-1 or 11-0 teams seeded ahead of them, like this year. Then the #2 seed, unlike this year, will need to win their 1st 2 playoff games to get NDSU on the road for the semis.

Stick is similar to Jensen, just gets the job done. Hopefully he can mature with his passing game. The Bison have a great strength and conditioning program that helps prevent injuries and keeps the players strong going into the 4th quarter. Notice all the JSU players that were leaving the field and very few Bison players. Bison are 1-1 on the road in the playoffs. Beating Montana St on the road before taking EWU into overtime that same year. That was a young Bison team and the defense was full of youngsters.

Sure the streak is going to end, it could end next year, but it's been a great ride.

Well that win was pretty much a gimme... It's not hard to beat Montana State after November.

That's a really long post that ignores the fact that they are 5-0 in Frisco. Just sayin.

I wish I had as positive an outlook as you.

Is NAU's football schedule for 2016 anywhere on the internets? I've pieced together a few of the conference games through other teams sites and saw that ASU is on this year's schedule.

Here's hoping Coach Barnum can use the rep points he's earned this year to recruit the best students available abd Portland State can make more noise next season.

But nothing lasts forever.... and that includes the Bison.

The 5 losses in the last five years, 3 have been at home to conference teams.

The '16 Bison teams will have 8 back on defense and 5-6 back on offense if you count Stick....8-0 as a starter.

Iowa will be a great game for the Bison. They have a lot of players coming back.

UNI and NDSU will be the favorites in the Valley next year.

#6 next year is a definite possibility.

The problem with "getting them away from the Fargo Dome" theory is that unless that game is in Missoula, no other school has a true home field advantage....either their fan attendance sucks (most of them) or their stadium setup doesn't facilitate a true fan advantage.

2014 attendance:
1. Montana
2. JMU
3. NDSU
4. Montana St
5. Liberty
6. UD
7. JSU
http://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/stats/football_ ... e/2014.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

2015 NCAA attendance summary not up yet, but I believe it will be:
1. Montana
2. JSU (jumped from 15,573 to 20,598)
3. JMU (again playoff game dropped it under 20k)
4. NDSU
5. Montana State
6. Liberty
http://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/stats/football_ ... e/2014.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

In addition to Montana, the following 4 I think would be true homefield advantages:
-#2 JSU. I saw JSU pack their 24k stadium for their semifinal vs SHSU. Looked really good & fairly loud on TV. Don't think that many NDSU fans (would be in hundreds, not in thousands) would make it on 1 weeks notice. Definitely would be a true homefield if they hosted NDSU in the quarterfinals or semis.
-#3 JMU. Despite the lopsided, would be true home field advantage. I think if ever hosted NDSU say qtr finals or semis would get close to a 25k sellout. Same as for JSU, don't think that many NDSU fans (would be in hundreds, not in thousands) would make it on 1 weeks notice. As far as JMU going 10-1 next season to be a potential playoff host of NDSU, forget it. 17 starters (if you include the QB who started the last 4 games) as of now slated back, + maybe 1 stud from 2014. But no Vad Lee, brand new as yet to be named HC, tougher schedule set up. I'm just hoping for 8-3 and playoffs..
-#5 Montana State looked pretty full & loud to me when I saw them host SHSU in a qtrfinal game in 2012 (granted SHSU won).
-#6 Liberty- The fightin Falwells pack that stadium, and for a bunch of teetotalers, those flamers are a loud, boisterous bunch.

The following would be maybes:
-YSU if they ever return to prominence. I was at the JMU @ YSU 2006 playoff game, and that place, was LOUD, despite the lopsided nature of the stadium, even more so than JMU, and despite the fact that it wasn't totally full (Thanksgiving weekend).
-Would UNI in their smaller dome hosting a qtrfinals or semis be a true homefield in terms of being full, noise, and not have several k NDSU fans?
-McNeese State?

Their's probably a few others who might not have as high of attendance but can be very loud. The thing is, if a team doesn't have a true homefield advantage at least they wouldn't have to deal with a huge DISADVANTAGE, which the Fargodome definitely is, esp I think for teams that haven't dealt with that before.

On the flip side, maybe if a team hosted that only drew a few k fans, and not that many NDSU fams made it, NDSU, who's so used to playing in packed, loud, great atmosphere in the playoffs, if they had to play in majority empty & quiet, they'd be like WTF? :? and be thrown off game shi*ty atmosphere.

I've only watched one playoff game (on TV) at the UNI dome with interest, and that was the 2007 Flacco-led UD team against #1 UNI. It was absolutely rocking, and Delaware struggled for the first quarter (down 10-0) before exploding in the second quarter.

Now, would that noise be a large home-field advantage against NDSU? Probably not. You just figure out a silent cadence and march on.

JMU, JSU & Liberty will never be on the same side of the bracket. Non-starter.
MSU has no home field advantage. They've proven that time and time again.
UNI has struggled to fill their stadium for playoff games (if I recall correctly).
