Stony brook is such a tough team .. hard to say ... what a strong Defensive game that turned out to be

I see that MSU could have won their game if they had not got 17 points behind in the 1st qtr

Gregor ik's defense gelled for the next 3 qtrs .. do you think that Stitt will regret letting him go to brand X before this year is over?

They did have one of the best defenses in the nation last year.

They've also been in the playoffs in the last 5 years, unlike another school further down the Atlantic. :coffee:

I really don't expect that you can grasp this ... but I will try

For several years running, Stony Brook had a nationally ranked defense (tough word?). Last year for instance

Total Defense (nationally)
3. Stony Brook
5. Bison
14. UNI
34. UND (Chicken hawks)
39. GRIZZZ
80. Cal Poly
95. E Wash (wow)
114. MSU

Defensively they are tough

Anything compared to the Big Sky looks good defensively.

It remains to be seen what happens with the Griz D - better, worse or about the same. But I think MSU's D is going to be noticeably better this year and is headed in the right direction.

I'm interested to see our game this weekend. We play Bryant, who beat StFU last year by two at StFU. If we win big, I'll try to convince you that the transitive property works over two different seasons :coffee:

I saw an improvement already with the cats defense, bad 1st qtr and then things came together, held them to a field goal the second qtr, held them scoreless the entire 2nd half.

I think coach stitt should not have scuttled those kids on scholarships, expecially the montana kids. .. if they go to MSU from now on what a loss for the Griz ... he should not have tossed aside his D coordinator to the point that he wen to the rival school?

Bison have great talent from other states BUT we value our instate kids and can't make it with our them also.

Just my thoughts .. we will see?

That's oversimplifying the Gregorak situation to say the least.

As for Dalton Daum, he's a prima dona who will fit in perfectly over there...

Like I said before, it's a 50/50 game, one that Montana can win just as easliy as lose, Home field helps in a lot of ways, Montana fans should know this more than most. And yes, I can say that I watched part of the game, until it got incredibly lopsided and I turned to a different game.

I watched UM beat NDSU, then turn around and lose to Cal Poly, Watched Montana escape Pocatello with a win thanks to a botched ISU snap then the following week watched them curbstomp EWU. I watched Weber get curbstomped by Southern Utah only to win in Missoula the next week. I also watched a bad Northern Colorado almost beat EWU in Greeley.

What I guess Im saying is nothing is certain anymore.

What's certain is MSU doesn't have a Travis Lulay and EWU doesn't have a Vernon Adams. Thus, UM rises to the top again and resumes its rightful place as Big Sky champion.

Nope, we don't. We have a Gage Gubrud, but he's pretty decent... I'm certain.

Interesting that in only 6 games played, Gubrud already own the single game record for offensive yards, and 5 out of 10 best single game performances. That's ridiculous.

Physics show that if an immovable object is hit by an unstoppable force they would just go through each other without affecting each other in anyway.

Griz are tearing it up but perhaps someone should pull up the offensive rankings of their opponents.
