Who will win each Conference in 2016?

Post by Killamike296 »

Ok so I've been wanting to do this thread for a while but felt it was too early to tell who's going to be good or not.

That still very well may be the case but think of this as more of a prediction on the matter.

I myself am not going to do a list right this second because I don't know enough about the heavy hitters of each conference.

The CAA this year seems to be a toss up this year so I just went with my gut feeling and put Delaware. Also Austin Peay is my team that I pick in the OVC when I really don't know who's going to win

I had to go back and see if this thread was from a couple years ago because that would have explained the Whofferd / WCU picks so far

They have just as good of a shot at winning the MVFC as the rest of the members against NDSU. :coffee:

You must have forgotten what happened last time NDSU stepped into the UNIDome.

I don't know why I forgot about UNI...they will certainly be in the mix...for SECOND place, anyway. I don't think anyone's going to be able to take down NDSU in that league any time soon....

You must forget that NDSU gets beat by MVFC programs...and lost to freaking South Dakota in the Fargodome last year...and plays at UNI this year where they lost by 20 2 years ago.

UNI is a preseason top 3-5 team in the nation. Dumb losses happen for UNI, but it wouldn't be a shock for UNI to win it

The fact that the Hens have the Virginia trifecta this year should dispel any belief they will even go .500

Sat, Oct 01 James Madison at Harrisonburg, Va.
Sat, Oct 15 William & Mary at Williamsburg, Va.
Sat, Nov 12 Richmond at Richmond, Va.

Please don't construe my comments to mean that I wouldn't like to see UNI take the title. I have a friend that went to UNI for at least a little bit, so I know it to be a good school. And their football team has been incredible, for the most part, for the last 10-15 years or so. It's time for some variety in the MVFC. Perhaps it's just the collective impact of seeing one team be so dominant for so long (see the Atlanta Braves on top of the NL East for as long as they were). I just can't see NDSU giving it up just yet. I hope it happens, but I don't see it, at least not this year....

Unfortunately I think you'd have to go with Sam Houston State in the Southland. Naturally I'll be pulling for McNeese but they lost a lot from last year, including that defensive tackle that I think was the best in the subdivision last year and who I was expecting for them to have back but who went to prison, and they are breaking in a new head coach as well as a new starting quarterback.

Like I said I am HOPING they surprise but there's an awful lot to overcome.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?
