Was Central Arkansas exposed last week? Hard to say for sure, but it was their first game against a good team since they beat Arkansas State in late September. The Bears have been quite careless with turnovers in November and it came to back to bite them big time against SHSU. Who wins this game probably comes down to whether UCA's loss in Huntsville was a systemic problem, or just a motivating kick in the ass. Illinois State is playing quite well of late, so the Bears will have to do the same to earn a trip to the radiant red field.

Here's my assessment of the matchups & my pick for the game:

      • Quarterbacks -- Illinois St.

        Running Backs - Illinois St.

        Receivers/TEs - Illinois St.

        Offensive Line - (push)

        Defensive Line - Central Arkansas

        Linebackers --- (push)

        Secondary ---- (push)

        Kicking ------ Illinois St.

        Punting ------ Central Arkansas

        Return Teams - Central Arkansas

        Kickoffs ------ Central Arkansas

        • Illinois St. 27-24 Central Arkansas

Central Arkansas had five turnovers last week while Sam Houston State didn't have any. That makes 15 turnovers for Central Arkansas in its final three games of the season.

They actually WON the turnover battle this time and got 7 off a blocked punt as well.

This was an ugly, ugly, game to watch. UCA defense looks solid, but their offense looked pretty inept.

Yeah, sorry someone actually played defense...I can see where that would confuse you.

Cal Poly.

Weber Whatever.

Too funny.

You don't get to 10-1 without playing any defense, but I could see where that might confuse you as well.

I appreciate solid defense...the offensive ineptness was more a reference to the fact that the UCA Qb couldn't seem to complete a pass.

Did you watch the game? It was ugly.

He's moved on. He's not going to take you back.
