Big Sky Injury Problems

Post by Mvemjsunpx »

Cal Poly - Star FB Joe Protheroe, who led the Big Sky in rushing last year, is out for the season. On the plus side, they did take UNI to overtime without him.

NAU - In addition to the Jerome Souers thing, star WR Emmanuel Butler is likely out this weekend with a shoulder problem.

Montana - New starting QB Reese Phillips suffered a gruesome ankle/lower-leg injury that will shelve him for the season & his career if he doesn't get a 6th. year.

North Dakota - Their whole freakin' team has become a MASH unit (listed by Colter Nuanez here).

Never a good thing to lose players to injury. I wish them all a speedy recovery.

Is the issue that all these patsies are finding out it's hard when teams actually play defense?

I think we saw last year what happens when one CAA team decides to play offense.

DT Jay Tee Tuili is listed as out again this week. That's a big loss. (He's 320 lbs)

Let me know when it works out for a Big Sky team.

That could definitely be a factor, as our run-blocking seems to be much improved, and Calhoun and Lee are the best combo of backs we've had in a while.

EWU 38 Richmond 0.

It's worked pretty well over the years. It's the defense that's questionable.

(I'm not sure your point in being in this thread or what we're even arguing about but knock yourself out, Tiger.

 But you'll be the first to use 3 and 4 loss BS teams in conference comparisons.

It's almost like JMU has erased Colgates march through the CAA in '15!

2015... Was that the year the Big Sky went 1-3 in the playoffs?

Probably. Were 2 of those losses against the Patriot League?

Was it the team I've been wishing would be good for the past 15+ years?

Emmanuel Butler is out for the season for NAU. Throw in a seemingly discombobulated Cookus/team offense, a painfully young defense and Souers being ceremoniously shown the door and I think if it's time to start feeling like I normally do around early November.

Yup....shows what I know. And I'm considering embracing this pessimism thing from here on out. It seems to work out better than when I am optimistic about my sports teams.
