Rankings??

So the new FCS coaches poll shows SUU still in the "getting votes" category after now beating 3 top 25 teams, including EWU who was at number 8. EWU only dropped to 12 after their beating from SUU. Trying to figure what the dealio is, is a loss to Sac worth that low of a ranking still? :suspicious: :ohno:

There's your problem Thundernuts. The coaches don't know, don't follow and don't care about teams around the country.

The new Stats poll has SUU at 25 which I think is too low.

Eastern is at 14 which is too high imo.
Montana fell 3 spots after having a bye :wtf:
Weber fell out after winning :wtf:
NAU is still not ranked despite convincingly winning 5 straight :wtf:

The Big Sky might be down this year, but the teams at the top are better than the top 25 polls are giving them credit for.

Not a single vote for Sac State at this point is surprising as well...

It's a bad poll. Tell me if this seems right to you:

10. Elon... 6-1 but hasn't won a game by more than one score (1,2,3,3,6,8) and has beaten one ranked team
13. Villanova... 4-3, hasn't beaten a ranked team and lost to an unranked Albany
14. New Hampshire... 5-2, hasn't beaten a ranked team and lost to an unranked Holy Cross
19. Richmond... 4-3, hasn't beaten a ranked team, lost to UD
22. Stony Brook... 5-2, beat New Hampshire lost to UD
23. Delaware... 5-2, beat ranked Richmond and Stony Brook, lost to JMU in the Dukes closest game of the year

Just seems off to me and that people are putting too much weight in pre-season polls and are afraid to move teams up and down week to week.

It's not surprising from the coaches' poll. The AGS poll always makes much more sense than STATS or coaches'.

Absolutely ZERO respect for the Big Sky, and a big dick sucking fest for the MFVC. They can literally do NO wrong.

AGS gets it (except no way in hell should Elon be that high)...

7 Elon Phoenix
13 Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens
18 Villanova Wildcats
19 Stony Brook Seawolves
24 Richmond Spiders
27 New Hampshire Wildcats

8 Western Illinois Leathernecks
14T Northern Arizona Lumberjacks
14T South Dakota State Jackrabbits
16 Southern Utah Thunderbirds
17 Eastern Washington Eagles

21 McNeese State Cowboys

The geographic center of the FCS is basically Louisville - just outside to the NW.

Jacksonville State is just east
Indiana State is technically a "western" FCS team.
Butler and Alabama State right on the line.
Samford is west
Alabama A&M is west

Youngstown State is about as Western as the Dallas Cowboys are the NFC EAST.

And who are you going to put above them? #18 SoS and quality wins against Furman, Richmond, and CSU. They'll get their chance to justify the next few weeks.

I'll say it right now. YSU is the BEST 5 loss team in the nation. They should always be in the polls!
