Motherfucker JMU backup QB throws a practical pick 6. Run back to JMU 5. SHSU TD. 2 pt conversion no good. 51-16.

last several series JMU 3 runs up middle, punts. SDSU drives a little then throw INT.

What must the Dukes do to get a little respect from the national pundits? I can understand the home town fans . . . as it should be, but over the past week I read and heard terms like "slow," "weak defensively" (how many ints today?) and "weak bench" (whatever the heck that means - a true soph TE lit it up the past two weeks). With today's route of the Jackrabbits many of those prognosticators should take a closer look at JMU and perhaps quit dismissing them as an anomaly. I harken back to last year's championship game. Unfortunately had to watch it on TV and all I heard was Youngstown, Youngstown, Youngstown . . . all while the Dukes dismantled the so-called "fabled" (the announcer's term not mine) Youngstown program. Even NDSU fans should be offended! Perhaps with a victory at Frisco (not a sure thing by any means - we Dukes fans respect the Bison) perhaps the Dukes may finally get a little "love." What say you?

I had to leave a little after halftime. I knew South Dakota State had 5 turnovers in the first half. I see they had 10 turnovers for the game. I'm trying to remember if I've ever seen anybody have 10 turnovers before.

I felt like early on South Dakota State was actually outplaying JMU. Moving the ball better, etc. But they kept turning the ball over. Later on it looked like JMU was taking control in terms of being able to move the ball. But I felt like South Dakota State missed an opportunity to get off to a good start and a lead because of the turnovers.

I've been hearing plenty of respect. Stuff about the winning streak, etc., in spite of the injuries.

Well sure, if you take away the ten turnovers SDSU might have made a game of it.

Best SDSU team ever, with help from JMU of course, scores a perfect 10, 10 turnovers.

I think it was because at least it was in some doubt at halftime. Less in doubt when JMU did that drive to score right before the half. But South Dakota State was able to move the ball throughout the first half. As part of that they were able to run the ball effectively. Being down 21-10 at halftime with a -4 in the giveaway/takeaway stat wasn't bad.

You could see by about halfway through the 1st quarter of the Sam Houston State at North Dakota State game that it was over. Sam Houston State just flat couldn't play with North Dakota State at all. The score at the end of the 1st quarter for South Dakota State at James Madison was 7-0 and it was that because South Dakota State had an unforced turnover inside it's own 10 yard line. The score at the end of the first quarter of the Sam Houston State at North Dakota State game was 21-3 and it wasn't because North Dakota State got short fields.

And 21-10 at halftime when South Dakota State was at -4 in the giveaway/takeaway stat wasn't all that bad. At that point there was at least SOME basis for thinking South Dakota State could make it a game. North Dakota State was up 41-3 over Sam Houston State at halftime and it wasn't because Sam Houston State was turning the ball over. It was just a total men against boys type thing.
