FCS Championship Game #1 JMU vs #2 NDSU Frisco Baby

NDSU will have revenge on their mind, and will put up a good fight. JMU might be a 1 or 2 TD favorite, as NDSU lost it's 2 cornerbacks and another running back in the Sam Houston game. Down to the #2 and #6 backs from season start. Had 2 defensive injuries last year too, and it hurt at LB and D-Line. They are back, but a similar scenario, unless the backups can get up to speed in 3 weeks. Maybe Cox can play Cornerback too.

After watching both semi final games, i am convinced that Weber should be the 3rd ranked team when the final polls come out.

San Diego would have given Sam Houston a game.

Don't sandbag. JMU has had more than its share of injuries, too. I think both teams had double digit guys out throughout the entire teams. 14 games in 15 weeks is grueling..With a 3 week rest both teams should be getting a few guys back who didn't pay this weekend I imagine.

After the NDSU/SHSU game, despite the injuries, I bet NDSU would have been favored by a few. Now after the JMU/SDSU game, I think the line would swing back in JMU's direction a little with the whole comparative score thingy..

NDSU will be looking at a lot of JMU-Weber film.

And JMU will be looking at a lot of NDSU-SDSU film..

So the teams can look at each other's 'losses'. They'll look at wins, too. I'm sure Houston will have his staff breaking down all 14 of NDSU's games. And vice versa for NDSU. 3 weeks to the grindstone..

Since the field expanded to 16 teams in 1986. I could only find the seeds listed for 2004-2016. Is there a site that lists the seeds for every year going back to 1986? CollegeFootballDataWarehouse that no longer exists might have had that info.

Could mostly figure out 1986-2003 by looking up the teams for that year or trying to find info on the NC game. For example, teams winning the NC game with 3 losses (1990 GSU, 1991 YSU, 1992 Marshall, 1998 UMass, 2002 WKU, or getting their 4th loss in the NC game (1993 Marshall) obviously weren't top #1 vs #2 seeds. Couple other were #1 vs #3s like 1994 #1 YSU beating #3 Boise, and 2000 #3 GSU beating #1 MT.

But as far as #1 vs #2 in 31 NC games with field of 16 or more teams 1986-2016, this is what I found
-1996 #1 Marshall (with Randy Moss) (14-0) beat #2 Montana (14-0) (only time 2 undefeated)
-2009 #2 VU beat #1 Montana
-2011 #2 NDSU beat #1 Soft Houston
-2017 #1 JMU vs #2 NDSU

Did any of the prior 3 start out #1 & #2?

God damn construction not even done in that damn soccer stadium. Might not even be able to hit the 21,836 of the 2015 NC game between NDSU/JSU. Gonna be 10-15k fans from both schools that would go but aren't going to because they aren't going to be able to get (affordable) tickets..

Prime example of why the NC game needs to be held in a bigger stadium. NDSU/JMU could fill a 35k stadium. Secondary markets $75 face value tickets apparently are $300+ on NCAA site and $400 on stubhub (were $125 last week). Someone just posted on the JMU board they sold 4 section 107 (prime seating) for $750 a piece..yep 3 grand..When JMU Duke Club members find out on Tues who doesn't get tickets (I assume NDSU fans will be soon too) prices could climb even more. Insane.

Not sandbagging, just begin realistic. Replacing 2 starting corners and getting the new guys up to speed, and playing JMU in the next game. It wasn't going to be an easy task to begin with, but this makes it much more difficult.

Wow, NDSU is the favorite? I'm gonna hit that line hard today - I don't think they can beat the Dukes - bad matchup for the Bison.

Ticket prices are crazy, and like you said, going to get crazier. $300 plus might be a deal after the schools ticket allotments are passed out.

I don't know, are Weber's D-Backs, better receivers than the Dukes D-Backs?

Yale?
Yeah, #10 is way too high.
-They did beat "playoff" Lehigh by 28.
-2 weeks after EWU won @ Fordham 56-21, Yale won @ Fordham 41-10.
-In the last SRS (updated 11/19) they are #8.
http://www.ncaa.com/rankings/football/f ... ngs-system

Latest STATS poll on the NCAA site only shows an update of 11/6. Latest Coaches (11/20) has Yale at #23. While the Coaches' Poll is a joke overall, that's probably about right. I was just looking for someone to put in front of SHSU/JSU/UCA..

But I edited above & moved:
-NC A&T from #9 to #13
-Yale from #10 to #23,
-SHSU & Kennesaw into the top 10..
-A few others around

The thing is, if the MEAC hadn't left the playoffs last year, NC A&T probably could have won a round of 24 game, getting the MEAC their 1st payoff win this century...Beat I-A Charlotte, beat G Webb worse thn 3 other playoff teams..
Looking at scores:
NC A&T 45, G Webb 3
Wofford 27, G Webb 24
Kennesaw 17, G Webb 3
Monmouth 41, G Webb 14

The good news is, they increased team allotments of tickets to 5300 this year. Might get down to my priority points, so I don't have to go on the secondary market.
