On the one hand you have point there. I don't follow basketball (other than to know JMU sucks) but I believe the season is 2-3 weeks, around 5 games longer than it was back in the 90s..$$$$ has been placed in front of the well being & interest of the student athletes.. course with big time college basketball the notion of "student athletes" is a joke..

On the other hand, basketball is a contact sport. Football is a collision sport. 15 games in 16 weeks is a little too much IMHOP. These guys aren't the pros..

With the P5 title game, it will be 15 games (or 14 if Bama) in I think about 20 weeks..
The three weeks is far better for the fans of the schools involved - much easier to plan and to get there, a lot of build-up, etc. For the rest of FCS, the three weeks is terrible because, frankly, people just forget about it. There's no tie-in with the playoffs because all of that momentum and interest wanes and after the holidays there's just other things to do and other football to care about (NFL playoffs, FBS playoffs). But I like that it's changed to three weeks - there isn't really a big national following of FCS anyway so who cares if the few people who would've cared are caring or not, and most importantly, for the fans of the teams involved, it's tremendously better.

MVFC offenses have improved over the past couple of seasons while the CAA seems to struggle in that category so while the stats favor JMU you still have to consider SoS. Both teams took down really great offenses in the semi's and it's tough to tell which one is truly better.

I think JMU needs to continue it's takeaway feasting and Schor is going to have to make more plays through the air to beat the Bizon.

Reading the Dukes sight, sounds like JMU takes the ball when they win the coin toss. The Bison defer when they win the coin toss. All things considered, JMU will have the ball first.

That sucks Gil. The stadium is still construction shortened capacity and might see a crowd of under 20k. NDSU probably 3/4 of the Aug purchases. I’m guessing it will be something like 12k NDSU, 8K JMU.

From what was reported on the JMU board, about 4,000+ of JMU’s 5300 alottment went to Duke Club members. Most of the rest went to the 25 & under young alum Duke Club members & a student lottery. Not sure where the players families tickets came from. I know the bands (up to 350 allowed) don’t come out of each school’s 5300..

Reportedly about 3500 Duke Club members. Not all are football season ticket holders. I’m guesstimating around 1700 ordered, about 1200 made the cut (lowest ranking I saw posted that didn’t was in the low 1200s), and it was reported about 500 didn’t make the cut (order limit for all of them would have been 4, that’s 1500-2,000 tickets). I’m sure were many in the bottom half of the rankings who didn’t even bother, non Duke Club members who would have ordered several thousand tickets and gone if they could get them, and probably a couple thousand more students..

I know NDSU will have as many if not more would go if they could get tickets fans. Bottom line is between the 2 schools there’s going to be 10-15k fans that would go if it was a bigger stadium. Could easily sell out a 30k stadium, maybe 35k. Sucks that Frisco is hosting until 2020. Toyota Stadium is entirely too small to be hosting the NC game. It needs to be moved to a 30k+ stadium like we had in the 90s when Marshall hosted it their then 30k stadium..

Cox is 6'3", 227 LB, lead the Bison in tackles, solo and total, and can cover receivers. MVFC freshman and newcomer of the year. Might need more speed for the next level too. Dual threat QB in high School. Watch for #42 in the championship game.
