MSU was also 7-4 and had a linebacker playing QB all year. If EWU, Weber or Davis make it to Frisco, we'll find out what's what.
MSU had no defense. Their best offense was putting 4 receivers wide, making conference Defensive player of the year, LB Cox, play a receiver, then Andersen would run away from Cox.

You're probably right but there are several little signs that things could get competitive. They're going to face solid defenses from here on out unless Davis makes it through...especially Maine and Weber. Maine gives up no yards on the ground and Weber is tricky because they will blitz in any situation and from every position.

We know SDSU can hang with them.

Regarding KSU, we've seen TO teams do well in the Fargo dome before (Georgia Southern and Chuck South). Not convinced yet that the Owls been truly challenged by an elite offense but they held their own against at least a decent one in JSU.

EWU doesn't have the lock down defense of the rest but it's better than the 2010 D and we can also score more than any of them.

Even Davis was able to give up less yards and points to UNI than the Bizon did. (I know it was at home and conference familiarity, etc).

The decent JSU offense. They put up numbers on a bunch of nobodies. When JSU played decent teams, they did not fare as well.

3 National Championships, 6 title game appearances, 11 semifinal appearances, 6 Buchanan awards, 5 Payton’s over that time.

You’re not a very good troll.

2 NC's in reality and how many of those appearances were Montana? :coffee:

BTW, in 25 years...

National Championships
Gateway/MVFC - 8 by three teams
CAA - 6 (*7) by five teams
SoCon - 6 by three teams (all no longer in I-AA)
Big Sky - 3 (*2) by two (*one) teams

So yeah.

That’s why I said decent. They moved the ball against NCAT, ETSU, and even Maine. Turned it over a ton though.

Decent.

I guess we have different definitions of decent.

The Big Sky has won 3 times as many NC’s since Boise, Nevada, and Idaho left.

Huh? Didn't Boise, Idaho State and Montana State all win NC's back in the day?

Well a top 10 FCS scoring offense that played 4 playoff teams is probably at least decent in most people’s books.

So they scored 14 on SEMO, 24 on Kennesaw (who is overrated), 27 on ETSU (who were a mid level team) and 14 against Maine until the game was out of hand. Check.

They scored 34 on ETSU and 27 on the #2 defense in the nation. Like I said...decent.

SoGon hasn't been in the Championship game since 2007. Probably be a Big Sky/MFVC final four this year, because the ECB is down.

Yep. This is really more of an "are the CAA/traditional powers are really this bad" argument than anything else.

But there are some stars potentially rising on the EC)b) with KSU, Elon, Maine, SBU, Colgate, Duchesne etc. Hell, even Wagner and St. Francis have looked better lately when they come out here to play the Montanas.

So pick 6's count for offensive production, or were you either lazy or hoping I wouldn't notice. :ugeek:

 The fact that you're mentioning teams like St Francis and Duquesne (unless Matt Duchesne is now a university) ought to tell you that we've been right and you've been wrong on this entire thread.

Actually the only drama is I see is the inevitable EWU-WSU rematch. Has EWU improved? Is WSU the class of the rest of the FCS?

Of course the winner of that game loses by 30-40 to NDSU so the drama ends there, but it will be nice while it lasts.

You’re as fatalistic as a Children of Men redux or a Hens fan. I now hope Davis meets Colgate in the chipper.
