I actually think Incarnate Word may be the slightly better team here. The stylistic matchups favor them, too, since their biggest weakness is pass defense & that shouldn't be much of a concern against Montana State. Still… this looks like a standard case of "Southland vs. the cold," and Griz fans can tell you how that typically goes.
Here's my assessment of the matchups & my pick for the game:
Quarterbacks -- Incarnate Word
Running Backs - Incarnate Word
Receivers/TEs - Incarnate Word
Offensive Line - Montana St.
Defensive Line - (push)
Linebackers --- Incarnate Word
Secondary ---- Montana St.
Kicking ------ Montana St.
Punting ------ Montana St.
Return Teams - Montana St.
Kickoffs ------ Incarnate Word
Incarnate Word 20-31 Montana St.

Im taking the Bobcats in this one, and although they wont likely make it out of the 2nd round, there is no downside to playoff experience and extra practice time to get you prepared for the next season.

Thanks for the info. I'm gonna keep the pick the same, however. Brophy was the primary QB last year, even if his stats weren't very good. Who knows if that was because he's bad or just because the whole team was bad?
Montana State - Incarnate Word played in a weak conference this season, MSU didn't look great this year but I think HFA gives the team from Texas no chance in Bozeman.

UIW offense pulls it out in which both teams score in the 30s. Great point on UIW weakness is their pass D, and MSU doesnt have much of a passing game. This is a toss up, even with the backup QB.
Nice today (40's), cold tomorrow w/ snow
Reminds me of the SHSU game a few yrs ago that was played Fr nite, right before a cold front moved in. In fact driving back to Helena that night, drove through the worst blizzard I'd seen in years. If I'd been driving, I'd have found a tavern for refuge. Sat. was bitter cold, but the game was over. Can't help but thinking the results may have been different if ESPN hadn't changed game day.
Wishing the Cardinals the best, but prepare for the cold-our 12th man.
Although a Cat fan, almost hope UIW wins. I know what faced us if we win. The fine NDSU team beats up on everyone, but they have a bone to pick w/ the Cats over a cancelled H&H trip to Fargo a few years ago. I suspect the Bison will be un-merciful, and rightly so.
Anyone wondering about weather conditions in Bozeman tomorrow, check out the Wash/WSU game tonight. The snow that hit Pullman in the 2nd Qtr should be in Bozeman tomorrow. Some of the moisture will be trapped by the Rocky's, but there is no stopping the cold. It'll be freezing.
It's our first cold snap, so could hurt the Cats as much as UIW.
Either way, wishing the Cardinals well. As a fan I just hope for a good game. I already know what next week brings.
