2017: Saw action in 12 games and made one start on the defensive line…Finished season with 21 tackles (11 solo, 10 assists)…Recorded four TFLs and a pair of sacks…Tallied a pair of tackles and one TFL vs. Western Illinois (9/9)…Registered a pair of stops at Cal Poly (9/23)…Finished with two tackles in win over Illinois State (10/7)…Made three stops in win over UC Davis (10/21)…Tallied two tackles, including one sack vs. Sacramento State (10/28)…Totaled three stops at Montana (11/4)…Posted three tackles, including two TFLs and a sack in victory over Montana State (11/11)…Recorded two tackles in NCAA FCS Playoff opener vs. San Diego (11/25).

2016: Redshirt season

High School: Competed at Apollo High School under coach Zach Threadgill…Was named the Division II Defensive Player of the Year…Set the career sacks record at Apollo…Helped team advance to the Division II State Playoffs…Also competed in basketball…In the classroom was named to the honor roll.

Height / Weight: 6-2 / 285
Position: DL


2017 (Freshman): Played in eight of the team's 12 games on the season as a substitution along the defensive line and on special teams ... Finished the year with six total tackles including four solo stops and one tackle for loss coming against FBS-foe, North Carolina (Nov. 18) ... Made his collegiate debut in the home-opener against Davidson (Sept. 9) ... Recorded his first career tackle against nationally-ranked Samford (Sept. 23) ... Named to the 2017-18 Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll.

Prior to Western Carolina: Was a part of the Alabama State 7-A high school football championship team as a senior, collecting one of Hoover High's nine sacks in the title game ... Selected to the "Over the Mountain Journal" All-OTM football team ... High school head coach was Josh Niblett.

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.
