Is it 1 PM because of TV? Otherwise I would have expected a start between 3-7 PM. Would be a good candidate for a night game.

Every UD home game starts at 1pm this year except the equal opportunity invitational on Thurs night (season opener).

That seems odd. I figured a majority of most schools’ fans prefer a later start, either mid afternoon or evening. JMU’s home are 6 PM/4 PM/1:30 (Parents’ Weekend)/3:30/3:30/3:30.

Having the home side under construction for one more year may have something to do with it, but I don't really know. It'll be a construction zone under and for about 50 yards around the west (home) stands with two ingress/egress lanes from the front parking lots. They'd probably prefer that not be navigated in the dark (or in the ice come November). Of course, they're still doing night for the equal opportunity invitational next Thursday night, so go figure.

It's 16 point something this year. Next year it goes to 18 point something once they take out the temporary press box they built on the east side for this season. You really need to keep up on GoHens. It's all over there.

Everyone there is lamenting the capacity drop, but IDGAF. You only need as many seats as people are willing to buy, and we know the place hasn't been a regular sellout since about 2008.

The stadium is as expandable as you'd ever need it to be. Hell, if you did a horseshoe of the north end zone level with the east and west stands, you could easily take capacity to 40K+.

There is so much room up there. Maybe we'd even finally get a 21st century scoreboard too :

Looks like a nice steady rain falling in New Ark. At least all the seats are in. People might not have a place to eat or piss for the game on Thursday night, and a small child may be lost in a concrete footer that hasn't set, but by God, there will be a place to sit WITH A CHAIRBACK AND A CUPHOLDER!
