University of North Dakota doesn’t really have a big game until they travel to Fargo in the second week which, I am sure, they widely recognize as their Super Bowl. They have been talking about it since their last visit in 2015, a 39-9 loss that wasn’t as close as it looks.

Many fans in Grand Forks claim the 2015 UND team the best of all time based on the 24-13 win over Wyoming and the 7-4 FCS record.

NDSU spent $5,281,392. Cost/victory about $377,000 including a National Championship. This is pure football elegance and beauty. NDSU is very good at football

This looks like a great game. We have UND -9. O/U: 43 Mythical score: 26-17

Last season the Hawks were a force beating 2 out of 3 teams ranked at game time. They won most of their games decisevely and the losses were mostly close. There are significant losses in personnel but there is enough remaining especially on defense to be optimistic its next man up.

Drake had problems with the stonger teams and lost decisively to Montana. People are certain to be looking at the comparative scores: UND 41 Montana 14; Drake 16 Montana 48. That game was early. Drake did much better later in a losing effort to San Diego and only lost to Iowa State by 3.

There is upset potential for Drake. Its UND -11.5 on 5dimes and -9 at GAM Headquarters. There is also route potential for the Hawks. That is what the UND fans are looking for if there is going to be optimism going into what is a tough stretch of games starting at the Fabulous Fargo Dome.

Lots of excited Hawks fans. They are high on the team, no reference to their marijuana problems from past years intended, and feel, despite the losses at running back and on defense that they have the guys to make a run. Most over there feel 7 wins should get them in. Drake is one of the wins.

Last time they played was 2015, the year of arguably the best football team in UND history. They got by Drake 21-18. They also beat Wyoming 24-13 but dropped a game to NDSU on the road 34-9.

That team was 7-4 but because of their lack of success against NDSU and the 3 game losing streak against Idaho, Weber and Montana their fate was sealed. They had enough left so the 2016 team did make the playoffs with a 9-3 record.

They lost the 2016 home playoff game to the Richmond Spiders 27-24 after extending their 17-7 halftime lead to 24-7 in a very entertaining game. It ended with a Richmond field goal as the clock ran out.

UND has a new offensive coordinator giving the fans their boost of confidence. Some are even giddy like on too much coffee. They are self-proclaimed experts on the subject of coffee and caffeine.

Drake is a good warm up for them before their trip to Fargo. They think they have the players, we will see.

I spent my entire two hour drive home from the game listening to the NDSU post game radio show and not one mention if UND the entire trip. Also, wtf does NDSU have like a 4 hour postgame show?

Ego hurt because this isn’t a big game for the Bison. No bigger than any other D1 school that has scholarships. It’s the UND Super Bowl though. UND fans figure they have the best team since the Bison beat them by 35 or so a few yrs back.

They are paying $500 or more for a cheap seat too, financing a lot of Bison season ticket holders. Fargo fans sure aren’t buying them.

The show is long because there is high regional interest in Bison football. In contrast, the UND post game is 30 minute.

I don't really know. If they do its club.

NDSU had to drop ice hockey in 1932. They were the best college ice hockey team in the Dakotas at that time with winning records against all of them but the depression was better. They were a great boxing school too but lost that sport as well. They also lost their school of Veterinary Medicine. That was the big hit.

The depression was brutal.

Problem for UND: scoring. 47 points Saturday was composed of short duration drives with high average yards/play. It was big plays and a pick 6. None of that will happen for them next week. if it does it won't be in abundance enough to make much difference.

They are going to have to put together drives against a strong and aggressive defense the equal of UNI or SDSU. If they can do that and win they have a very good team and the biggest win in the history of UND sports. They are all about NDSU.

They have been working 15 years to build a team to beat The Bison. Stumbled badly last time. This is UND Superbowl 2.

The GAM looks a little wide at 22. If it comes out like that in LV I would think it would shrink down to probably 11 or so quickly. As the season goes along miss-priced lines won't be up long. The crowd wises-up. If it gets down around 11 I will call it in Bison and give the pts.

Bison had 402 yds rushing & 217 passing against Butlers 198 total yds.

The UND fans are getting vicious and dirty at ss.com. Those people are starting to realize what is most probably going to happen again on Saturday and they are trying to defend their self image with vulgarity and hate. Some of them are holding $700 tickets!

Its kind of sad and the main reason I was against renewing the rivalry with that institution of higher hate. It would be a good idea for NDSU to get out of this division just to separate themselves from that horrid place. Its the people not the location.

One ray of hope is the growing realization by those fans that they belong in D2 like all the other small universities with their budget and D1 hockey. The second class treatment of the other sports is starting to rub some sense into a few of those hot heads.

They don't have the money to be a force in D1 hockey and support successful programs in the other sports. Hockey is even starting to fade because of the budget strains. That will be the catalyst to get things moving if they can't right the ship.

Its already a foul circus over there and will be a complete sewer of self loathing, hate and vulgarity if the expected results come to pass.

right now they are exhibiting scorn and loathing for a native American Women obviously in need of help and care. They never did have respect for the Native Americans and what they are doing now is a prime example of how they think. They hate without reason or thought.

Because of their past racist behavior forcing the NCAA to make them change their name the posting over there can only be construed as racist, pathetic, abusive and should be stopped in its tracks.

9/5/19 The racist fans at UND continue to mock and degenerate the white players from the NDSU Bison on their board ss.com which represents UNDs fan base not affiliated with the university. Its just horrible what they did to the Native American women on that board earlier in the week with pictures and words and now they are doing it again to the White players on the BISON. Because of their past violations, and the need for the NCAA to force change including their mascot name, their actions can only be taken at face value: racist, cruel and mean-spirited

The last time NDSU played this team they scored at will against a hapless team that was completely out classed on both sides of the ball. It ended 35-9. Coach Klieman had way too much class to pour it on. The BISON may pull back, toy with them for a half and not cover while winning handily. Do you really want to give a team 29 points knowing there is a good chance their far superior opponent may put the breaks on and keep the margin of victory unnaturally small?

THE bet here is UND and the points. We think this spread might shrink in NDSU favor making the BISON a clear pick later in the week.

This spread is good for UND fans. Take the points and don’t look back. The only question: will Entz run it up. Klieman didn’t.

For BISON fans today’s spread could be used as a hedge if the odds narrow to UNDs favor later in week. Take UND and the points. We think odds will shrink. If the spread gets under 15 we will dive in BISON and give the points. Under 20 Is definitely worth a long look.

Currently with the cheapest tickets at $85 and highs $700? this is the 4th most expensive college game in the country. This is a matter of pride for UND fans because they must think the building is empty if they aren’t there. It’s a huge deal for them.

The reality is no other fan base has been willing to pay such high prices for tickets to the Fabulous Fargo Dome.

We called in Bison -30.5 last night even though the GAM shows a 22 point spread. We think Entz pours it on and will let the seconds and thirds run it up if they can.

Oh man, the excitement is building in Grand Forks. Their local college football team is going to play a game in Fargo at the Fabulous Fargo Dome tomorrow! They have been posting all night long!

What a thrill for the kids from Grand Forks and a real chance to get a look at Fargo, the dream destination of every college graduate from there. This game will put grand forks on the map!

Grand Forks is a nice little town long under the shadow of Fargo its much larger and prosperous neighbor just 85 miles south. What a difference those miles made in the fate of the two cities.

Grand Forks was once the states most bustling little town but no more. Early growth was not sustained and Fargo became the center of commerce, culture and higher education, not to mention having one of the best college football programs and teams in the nation.

They have reserved the high school busses, which is smart. The kids will be a little more comfortable than with the middle school or grade school busses. Word hasn't come from the Engelstad UND Sports Authority but if they pop for the super 8 again like last time the buses will leave at 6:30 PM, other wise they will depart first thing in the morning after the kids have breakfast in the dorm. (They all got new T-shirts too that say UND on the front)

The hockey team let them use 2 of their old equipment trailers. They are painted with UND on the side and everything!

Good luck to UND and its fans. have a great time in Fargo! Try not to walk around with your mouth open in awe and remember it all starts with the fundamentals and the foundation is sportsmanship as you know from watching NDSU football and its fans for all these years.
