JMU wins 30-14

Good thing I didn't actually have money on this game. I picked 17, the spread was 16.5, and JMU won by 16. :?

Even with Weber's Davis possibly limited, odds are very high they will score at least 1 TD, even with a struggling offense. They have a good defense & special teams. Too many ways to score a score a TD- on a busted or trick play, defense, special teams..

JMU and Weber both have excellent FG kickers (Weber's is 23-28, JMU's is 22-28 (was 22-26, but missed last 2 vs UNI, from 47, which would have been a carerr long, and from 36. Before that had hit 10 straight).

So I got to go with Weber scoring a minimum 10 points. I was gonna go with JMU 27, Weber 10, but Mvemjsumpx already picked that score. JMU has only not covered the spread 2 times this season:
-in their OT win @ SBU (which was a 3rd straight road game after 2 Sept hot ones with 5 JMU turnovers, by far their worst game of the season
-last week vs UNI.
Right now the line has climbed to JMU-16.5 (I forgot what it opened with). I'll go with:
JMU 27, Weber 13.
I'll grant you a garbage time TD maybe for Weber

:geek:
Pretty close.

Old news (incident from 2 1/2 years ago) that has already been beat to death. Publicly reported no witnesses, a he said/she said, both had been drinking. Extremely poor decision making on the part of a then 19 year old. Cignetti probably knew far more about the situation than publicly reported, and has a rep as a no bullshit disciplinarian at IUP, Elon, and now JMU. I trust that he handled the situation appropriately, and will any future issues with any other players.

Came out 2nd half, did warmup drills, looked good to me but didn't play. Cignetti said ankle sprain, should be fine for Frisco. That would've been huge if he couldn't play. As a sopmore in the 2016 semis @ NDSU had 16 tackles, dnp vs NDSU 2017 NC due to taking a redshirt due to injury.

1st 6 possessions:
-Weber 3 and out
-JMU FG
-Weber 3 and out
-JMU TD
Weber 3 and out
-JMU TD
That was effectively the game. JMU DC Corey Hetherman was the Maine DC last year when then #7 seed Maine upset then #2 seed Weber in the quarterfinals. Think that helped JMU a little.

2nd qtr each team got a TD they shouldn't have.
-JMU stopped Weber near midfield 3rd down, but after the whistle backup JMU LB (in for injured AA LB #2) boneheaded late hit out of bounds. Next play Constatine completed 37 yd pass to the JMU 2 & Weber punched it in.
-Hill called boneheaded timeout before JMU missed 51 yd FG. Then had Dinucci to Stapleton hail mary.

Final Weber TD with about 3 min left down 30-7.
End of game JMU was on the Weber 10 and could have scored again if they wanted to.

JMU 467 yds offense (212 rushing/255 passing). Dinucci 19 for 27, 2 TDs/0 INT, 62 net rushing, 1 TD.
Weber 256 yds offense (70 rushing/186 passing).

Weber played well- 0 penalties, 0 turnovers, 0 sacks (although JMU got a lot of pressure & hits on Constatine).
Congrats to them on another great season.

Weber Game notes 2 deep showed only 4 seniors of 22, and their senior punter from down under. Offense only RT, and defense the 2 AA de ends and their All BS LB. By my count 10 All BS slated to return, and should be the clear favorites in the Big Sky next year, and probably pre season top 3. + will probably have a handful of 20-22 yr old "freshmen" coming off LDS missions. Wouldn't be surprised to see the 2020 NC game Weber/NDSU.

Sept 2021 JMU @ Weber, and Sept 2022 Weber @ JMU. Awesome home and home series..
