Fan reaction seems to be a mixed bag, ranging from a blessing to the QB room, to fear and anger that they've done this. I suspect that the latter reaction seems to be related to the typical P5 attitude that if you're not P5, you're really D-II. Bogus, but that's how many P5 fans are. And the assumption from both camps seems to be that Thomson won't play, despite the fact that he's the only guy on the roster with any game experience.

Delusional....

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Fan reaction seems to be split and uninformed, ranging from a blessing to the QB room to WTF are they doing?!? The latter seems to be stereotypical of elitist P5 fans who mistakenly believe that if you're not P5, you're D-II.

Delusional.

Mike Vorel of the Seattle Times talking to former UW quarterback and Pac-12 analyst Taylor Barton about Thomson and the competition he'll face at UW.

The virus could have played some into the decision. PSU has seen that with some basketball recruits that did not want to risk playing too far from home and rather play close to home. Also it could be a dream fulfilled as the article said growing up in the Seattle area, Thomson always wanted to quarterback the Huskies someday.
