Fan reaction seems to be a mixed bag, ranging from a blessing to the QB room, to fear and anger that they've done this. The virus could have played some into the decision. PSU has seen that with some basketball recruits that did not want to risk playing too far from home and rather play close to home. Also it could be a dream fulfilled as the article said growing up in the Seattle area, Thomson always wanted to quarterback the Huskies someday.
