FCS Poll?
I just tried to figure out what a poll of currently playing FCS teams might look like, understanding that such a thing would be wacky given that there aren't all that many that have played, those that HAVE played haven't played the same number of games, and most have cross-divisional games. I think we still have to start with NDSU at #1, both because they're the defending champs, and because they've beaten a semi-decent FCS team. Several FCS teams have been decent in "playing up." Others have shot themselves in the foot by playing D-II games, and one even wiped out a decent FBS loss by losing to a D-II. So here's my pathetic attempt at a rankings board, though I'm kinda iffy on 4 and 6 given their weird cross-divisional schedules, and 8 given a close FBS loss paired with a D-II loss.
1. NDSU 1-0
Defending champs. Beat C. Arkansas. To quote Ric Flair, "To be the man, you gotta BEAT the man."
2. Jacksonville State 3-1
Beat Mercer, N. AL, FL International. FBS loss (FL State).
3. SIU 1-0
Beat SEMO.
4. SFA 6-4.
Beat W. TX A&M (D-II), Angelo State (D-II), Abilene Christian, W. Colorado (D-II), E. KY, and Pittsburg State (D-II). Lost to UTEP (FBS), UTSA (FBS), SMU (FBS), and Memphis State (FBS).
5. Houston Baptist 1-3
Beat E. KY. Lost to N. TX (FBS), TX Tech (FBS), and LA Tech (FBS). TX Tech loss was close, and N TX loss was respectable.
6. Central Arkansas 5-4
Beat Austin Peay, SW MO State (2x), MO Western (D-II), and E. KY. Lost to UAB (FBS), NDSU, AR State (FBS), and E. KY.
7. SEMO 0-1
Lost to SIU.
8. E. KY 3-6
Beat Citadel, UCA, and W. Carolina. Lost to Marshall (FBS), West Virginia (FBS), Houston Baptist, SFA, Troy State (FBS), and UCA.
9. Abilene Christian 1-5
Beat Mercer. Lost to UTEP (FBS), Army (FBS), SFA, Angelo State (D-II), Virginia (FBS). UTEP loss was close.
10. UT-Chattanooga 0-1
Lost to W. KY (FBS).
11. W. Carolina 0-2
Lost to Liberty (FBS) and E. KY.
12. SW MO State 0-3
Lost to Oklahoma (FBS), UCA (2x).
13. Austin Peay 0-3
Lost to UCA, Pitt (FBS), and Cincinnati (FBS)
14. Citadel 0-4
Lost to S. FL (FBS), Clemson (FBS), E. KY, and Army (FBS).
15. Mercer 0-3
Lost to Jacksonville State, Army (FBS), and Abilene Christian.
16. Campbell 0-4
Lost to GA Southern (FBS), Coastal Carolina (FBS), Appalachian State (FBS), and Wake Forest (FBS). GASO loss was close.
17. N. Alabama 0-4
Lost to Liberty (FBS), Jacksonville State, S. Mississippi, and BYU. S. Miss loss was respectable.
Again, this season is VERY confusing. If the season were to end now, I would propose a shortened playoff. There's just not enough data to go on, though.
NDSU/Jax State/SIU/SFA Bye
SW MO State at Houston Baptist
W. Carolina at UCA
Chattanooga at SEMO
Abilene Christian at E. KY
The others just seem way too far out to include in the playoffs, and even SW MO State seems a stretch. I would think that the final would be NDSU and Jax State, with NDSU winning as per usual, though....

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Yikes, that's a lot of time on something that just has no teeth. I have kids flag football that plays in the school yard behind my house. You could come by and rank them.

I have the Payton coming down to Bailey Zappe or Xavier Gipson.

I’ll wait until the other 100 teams take a few snaps.

Re: FCS Poll?
Unfortunately, no. I still have limited access elsewhere. AT&T is too expensive, Comcast keeps wanting to sell me a "CarShield" style service plan before they even talk to me, and nobody else will service my area. SMH....

Define "nobody," Dal.
One member of the SoCon played yesterday, though they DID get destroyed by FBS #17 North Carolina....

Re: FCS Poll?
Harvard and Jacksonville State should be moving up in the polls this week. Usually after playing nobody for 10 straight weeks they end up pretty high.
