Just switched to the SIU vs. Weber game in time to see Weber leave a guy near the sideline completely uncovered on what probably would've been a field goal attempt. Snapped it to the kicker and he just lofted a softball over to the guy for an easy TD. Very bad for Weber.

Solid black pants must be a trend. They don't go very well with green or blue. Red and purple somewhat.

SIU 34, Weber 31, final.

-4th qtr was tied at 24.
-SIU went up 27-24.
-Weber went up 31-27.
-SIU on 4th and 6 from the Weber 8 yd line scored TD on desperation heave with 51 seconds left to go up 34-31.
-Weber can’t get into FG range. Might have tried a 54 yarder, but false start penalty made it 59 yds. Went for last play hail mary amd Weber QB got sacked. Weber ran out of miracles this season.

UD Sacred Heart tied at 7 late 1st. SH’s tailback looks like NFL level, running all over UD..

I was expecting Delaware to look physically superior. So far not happening. Not controlling the line of scrimmage while their on offense or when they're on defense.

The biggest surprise to me is that Delaware's offense can't do anything.

I think Jacksonville State is overrated and before today I thought it likely Delaware was going to beat the Gamecocks in the second round. But now I'm thinking it doesn't look good for Delaware. They'd have to play a lot better than they're playing tonight, I think.

They've only got 196 total yards right now and only 89 yards rushing. I guess it could be that Sacred Heart is a lot better than most people thought but my own gut feeling is that Delaware is just not looking good.

What a joke that 5-4 Mo St got a bid..Got whipped 44-10 by UND. Was 37-3 at one point. Yeah they were 5-1 MVFC, but were spanked by NDSU, and didn’t play the other Dakota playoff teams until getting drilled by UND today.

What a terrible showing by the Big Sky today...Weber upset at home, and EWU gets destroyed by NDSU.

Delaware ended with only 198 total yards. They had 14 first downs and at least two of them were by penalty.

Random triva: When SIU played Southeastern Louisiana in that game they scheduled, they got over 800 yards of offense including over 400 yards rushing and did not punt in the game. I mean, how often does THAT happen? To me it's amazing that they only won the game by 7 points.

Going by the 5 games I saw at least portions of, only the 3 Dakota teams looked like contenders today.
-#2 SHSU didn't, as they couldn't stop Monmouth from making a comeback and almost winning the game.
-#3 JMU, didn't, despite being up 21-3 at the half, and 28-10 at the end of the 3rd, as they couldn't put away VMI, only winning 31-24.
-#4 JSU- so what, they whipped a non scholly team.
-Weber obviously didn't, since they lost.
-UD didn't, in struggling to beat a 45 scholly team.

Limited highlights (doesn't show 3 INTs thrown by VMI, 2 by JMU, 1 of JMU's rushing TDs, or VMI's 2 4th qtr TDs to make it close at the end). Starts off with the longest run in I-AA postseason history, 99 yds.

Was that set up by something similar to the Swinging Gate? When I was at UOP, one of my fellow quarterbacks (I was more of a QBINO, if you know what I mean, but they were nice enough to let me stick around), showed me a modification that retained the back behind the off-set screen, but had a TE snapping to a shotgun QB with a back and a flanker near him. It pretty much guaranteed that the defense was wrong; all a QB had to do was count the defenders on his side of the field. It was called "The Duck." Unfortunately, we never ran it in a game. My teammate who drew it up is now the Special Teams Coordinator for the Cowboys.

We had another neat deal at Sac during my time there that we actually DID run a few times. We ran the triple option to the kicker on PATs. Oddly enough, with the UOP thing called "The Duck," THIS one was called "Oregon."

ROFL....

Not a swinging gate. Typical FG formation with everyone in tight except that TE. Maybe Weber missed him because he came on the field with the FG unit but stayed near the sideline.
