This looks like a no-brainer on paper, but I'm not so sure. We have Yale (2-2, 1-1 Ivy) against UCONN (0-7 FBS Independent). In OOC competition, both have lost to Holy Cross, but Yale HAS beaten Ivy/Patriot-level (I think they're roughly the same despite the fact that Ivy won't "play ball" with the playoffs) Lehigh and Cornell. UCONN hasn't beaten ANYBODY, but they HAVE played FBS bottom-feeders Wyoming and Vanderbilt to a two-point spread in consecutive weeks before previously-winless UMASS took care of the Huskies this past weekend. In the common game, UCONN gave a ten-point spread to Holy Cross, while Yale only lost by a FG.
I say Yale gets the scalp. I acknowledge that this might be a "meaningless" scalp, as I've previously mentioned that UMASS and UCONN are worthy of relegation to the CAA if that were a thing (which it's not). But a scalp nonetheless.
Discussion?

Wyoming is currently 4-1. I know their best win is probably over Montana State, but I don't think they would be classified as a "bottom feeder" in FBS. They are better than almost anyone in the MAC.

I was speaking of recent history, of course. Didn't think to look about THIS season for Wyo, though.

That said, Jal, do you think we get the scalp?

Craig Bohl had a rough start taking over in 2014, going 6-18SuperHornet wrote: ↑Mon Oct 11, 2021 1:30 pm I was speaking of recent history, of course. Didn't think to look about THIS season for Wyo, though.
From 2016-2019, 30-22 with three Bowl appearances and two wins
They were 2-4 in a Covid shortened all conference season.
4-1 this year.
Keep up, SH

Yale has a decent shot, but I wouldn't bet on it. If they do, I'd put it on the same level as NAU's win over Arizona (they did what most FCS schools would have done).

Wyoming hasn't been horrible. the last few seasons. At least no UConn horrible.
Yale gets beaten by Uconn. Write it down.
