Most Surprising Result: (#14) Incarnate Word 64, (#9) Southern Illinois 29 - Despite a new coach and a new quarterback, the Cardinals average a nutty 10.2 yards-per-play against a Missouri Valley defense.

Best Performance: (#2) South Dakota St. 3, (FBS) Iowa 7 - The Jackrabbits didn't exactly put on an offensive clinic, but holding Iowa to 166 yards and 0 touchdowns in Kinnick Stadium is as impressive as it gets.

Worst Performance: (#9) Southern Illinois 29, (#14) Incarnate Word 64 - The Salukis ran 37 more offensive plays than UIW and put up 222 fewer yards. :suspicious:

Most Surprising Result: (#9) Southern Illinois 29, (#14) Incarnate Word 64 - Not only did SIU's defense have a dreadful day, their offense was tackled-for-loss 15 times.

Worst Performance: North Alabama 14, Indiana St. 17 (OT) - The Lions finish with only 8 rushing yards in part thanks to 2 bad shotgun snaps that lost 41 yards (one happened in overtime).

Most Surprising Result: (#10) Stephen F. Austin 31, Alcorn St. 27 - A bad loss to Jacksonville State and a narrow escape against a middling SWAC team suggests the Lumberjacks have lost the mojo they had last season.

Tomorrow: the rest of the playoff conferences.

AQ8? What happened? Wasn't the WAC/ASUN Challenge (or whatever they called it) dubbed the AQ7 last year?

They renewed it in the spring because it became apparent neither league had 6 playoff-eligible teams. I think it's just called WAC/ASun Alliance officially and not AQ8, though.

WAC - Stephen F. Austin, Abilene Christian, Southern Utah, Sam Houston, Utah Tech, Tarleton St.

ASun - Eastern Kentucky, Central Arkansas, Kennesaw St., North Alabama, Austin Peay, Jacksonville St.

Both of those conferences need to go away. Force these teams to tough decisions and stick to them.

BTW, add Eastern Washington to the Best Performance section HC Aaron Best gets a hard fought win over Eddie George and Tennessee State. Just a quick example of what Eastern Washington will be doin in FRISCO, TEXAS. 1 in the bank 🏦.
