I cannot imagine a worse career move for Troy Taylor than saying no to Stanford.SuperHornet wrote: ↑Fri Dec 09, 2022 5:45 pm What happens to Stanford if BOTH Garrett and Taylor diss them?
Is it really career suicide if he plans to go on the Tom Landry plan?uofmman1122 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 09, 2022 5:55 pmI cannot imagine a worse career move for Troy Taylor than saying no to Stanford.SuperHornet wrote: ↑Fri Dec 09, 2022 5:45 pm What happens to Stanford if BOTH Garrett and Taylor diss them?

You're comparing a coach at the highest level of the sport in the world to a guy who can increase his salary by 10x by taking this job and has made comments before about wanting to coach at that level.SuperHornet wrote: ↑Fri Dec 09, 2022 7:21 pm Tom Landry was HC of the Dallas Cowboys for 20+ years....
Oh? Just look at Eddie Robinson, Joe Paterno, etc.uofmman1122 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 09, 2022 7:28 pmYou're comparing a coach at the highest level of the sport in the world to a guy who can increase his salary by 10x by taking this job and has made comments before about wanting to coach at that level.SuperHornet wrote: ↑Fri Dec 09, 2022 7:21 pm Tom Landry was HC of the Dallas Cowboys for 20+ years....
I guess it's not out of the realm of possibility, but those situations are not at all similar.

Plus he gets to move out of SacramentoSDHornet wrote: ↑Sun Dec 11, 2022 5:41 pm No brainer move. Prime is getting $5M+ base salary at CU, Wilcox's extension at Cal is $5M+ base salary. Taylor is going to go from around a quarter mil/year salary to $5M+ on top of whatever perks and bonuses Stanford threw in. No one with a sane mind turns that down.
