That doesn't fit the narrative that Taylor is somehow in line for the Cal job.

Both ideas are preposterous, of course....

Not a surprise, and I think they hire him.

He gone. Hell of a run for Coach Taylor. By far the best 3 year stretch in Hornet football. I enjoyed every minute of it. :notworthy:

Was about to post that. Hopefully he will stay on through a long playoff run.

What happens to Stanford if BOTH Garrett and Taylor diss them?

I cannot imagine a worse career move for Troy Taylor than saying no to Stanford.

Is it really career suicide if he plans to go on the Tom Landry plan?

You're comparing a coach at the highest level of the sport in the world to a guy who can increase his salary by 10x by taking this job and has made comments before about wanting to coach at that level.

I guess it's not out of the realm of possibility, but those situations are not at all similar.

Oh? Just look at Eddie Robinson, Joe Paterno, etc.

No brainer move. Prime is getting $5M+ base salary at CU, Wilcox's extension at Cal is $5M+ base salary. Taylor is going to go from around a quarter mil/year salary to $5M+ on top of whatever perks and bonuses Stanford threw in. No one with a sane mind turns that down.

Plus he gets to move out of Sacramento
