Most Surprising Result: Georgetown 20, Stonehill 23 - The Hoyas 2-0 start seems to have been a mirage as they get upset by the transitional Skyhawks.

NEC

SFPA 14-42 UD
DUQ 7-66 CCU
LIU 7-30 BAY
vul 0-44 MERR
SHILL 23-20 GTOWN

Worst Performance: Sacred Heart 10, Wagner 17 - The Pioneers follow a loss to the perennial Patriot League doormat with a loss to an NEC team with only 2 wins in the previous 4 seasons. :?

Most Surprising Result: Stonehill 23, Georgetown 20 - It's not a good sign for the NEC and their postseason victory hopes that their transitional school has more DI non-conference wins (1) than the rest of the league combined (0).

Most Surprising Result: (#4) William & Mary 15, Charleston Southern 7 - The Tribe did outgain CSU badly (395-77), but they've still had very underwhelming scoring margins against cupcake opposition the last 2 weeks.

Worst Performance: Bryant 25, Brown 29 - The Bulldogs lose turnovers 4-0 and suffer a bad defeat on two fronts; a loss to a rival and a loss to the preseason Ivy doormat pick.

Most Surprising Result: Gardner-Webb 25, Tennessee St. 27 - Gardner-Webb's 6-game conference win streak comes to an end against a surprising opponent.

    Overall: 6-6

Best Performance: Western Carolina 27, Eastern Kentucky 24 - The Catamounts come back from a double-digit deficit largely thanks to RB Desmond Reid's 240 total yards and 1 rushing TD.

Worst Performance: East Tennessee St. 3, Austin Peay 63 - The Buccaneers suffer their most lopsided defeat since a 74-0 loss to Carson-Newman in 1926. :o

Most Surprising Result: Wofford 20, Presbyterian 23 - It's not often a team like Wofford is a 30-point favorite, so it's good to see they fed off everyone's confidence in them.

    vs. FCS: 5-3
    Overall: 5-3

Best Performance: Harvard 45, St. Thomas 13 - The Crimson run for 255 yards on just 27 carries and force 4 turnovers in a blowout win over the Pioneer favorites.

Worst Performance: Columbia 3, Lafayette 24 - The Lions' 6-game non-conference winning streak ends with a whimper as they gain just 137 total yards and go 1/5 on fourth down.

Most Surprising Result: Brown 29, Bryant 25 - The Bears win turnovers 4-0 and surprisingly move to 6-2 in their intrastate series with Bryant.

MEAC

DSU 6-38 RICH
TOW 20-10 MORG
HAMP 35-34 HOW
NFOLK 9-41 TEMP
NCCEN 7-59 UCLA

  • NConf Record: 0-5
    Overall: 5-13

    vs. FCS: 0-3
    Overall: 3-4

Best Performance: Norfolk St. 9, (FBS) Temple 41 - Nobody in the MEAC won or even scared anyone good this week, so I guess I'll go with the team that was still technically in contention in the second quarter against an FBS opponent. :?

Worst Performance: Delaware St. 6, Richmond 38 - The Hornets have now lost 5 straight games and have scored a total of 31 points over that span.

Most Surprising Result: Morgan St. 10, Towson 20 - The Bears had a decent opportunity to prove they were for real, but they instead decided to fall behind 20-0 at the half against a nondescript CAA team.

SWAC

TXSO 7-59 RICE
PVAMU 0-69 SMU
miles 20-21 UAPB
fmu 22-58 GRAM
AAMU 10-20 SU

BCU 7-48 MIAMI
MVSU 7-35 delta
JSU 34-77 TXST

  • NConf Record: 4-5
    Overall: 7-18

    vs. FCS: 1-0
    Overall: 2-4

Best Performance: (#23) Florida A&M 31, (DII) West Florida 10 - The Rattlers win the second half 28-7 against one of the top teams in Division II.

Worst Performance: Mississippi Valley St. 7, (DII) Delta St. 35 - A blowout loss to a DII looks worse than last week's close loss to a DII, but at least this week's DII is a top-10 DII.

    Most Surprising Result: (none)
