I may be heading west next year! App is playing Boise State on September 27, and Glacier NP is close enough to spend a week in prior.
In planning I noticed that Montana has a home game on September 20th. I could come down from Kalispell to meet any interested takers for the game. Just something to think about.

I’d make an effort toward meeting you. Travel is tough right now but hopefully that will change. You’ll live Glacier.

WaGriz is awesome and definitely worth the trip. I would be down for meeting up with.

This has some possibilities! Still a good while away though, and things can happen. This is the third time I've made plans to get back to Montana.

Rob is planning to be at the Griz/Bear game on August 21 and Ashville App is hoping to make the Griz/Catamount game on September 21.
Rob, any chance you could switch to the Catamount game?
I'm not sure I could make either but I'm going to see what I can do.

My game is in 2025, I like to plan ahead. I think it's Indiana State on 9/20/25.

Hey bastard…if you don’t swing through Cheney for coffee on your way through I will denounce my Iowa roots.

I would have stopped claiming that years ago if I didn't still live here.

Should have seen that. I have a better chance of making it in 2025.

Okay, a question for you western volk. If you were heading from Missoula to Boise, and had 2 days to kill in Idaho, which way and where would you go? 93 South then cut over on ID 21? 12 to 95 to 55? I'm thinking scenery and interesting things as opposed to the fastest way. Thanks!

I’m not familiar at all with the 93 route but I know 12 to 95 takes you over Lolo Pass which was the trail Lewis and Clark’s Corps of Discovery took. They almost starved that fall before the Shoshone’s helped them out. At some point they also were finally able to see the Palouse and Columbia Basin desert and knew they had made it through the Rockies. That must have been thrilling.
It follows the Lochsa River and is near the upper Clearwater, Selway, and Kelly Creek. Rugged terrain, gorgeous gin clear water, lots of pull outs, some natural hot springs, historical markers, fairly uncrowded, and some of the greatest cutthroat fisheries in the world.

That's really pretty! I am guessing both ways will be pretty, tough to decide.

From Missoula take 93 to Salmon, ID and go through Stanley and Garden Valley then down to Boise. Wife and I did that trip about 10 years ago and it was incredible

Either way is great the Lochsa is beautiful too and going down Whitebird hill is cool and very scenic

That sounds like a great trip as well. So many cool areas within a day of us I still need to see.

Of course you could drive around the other side of Flathead lake, through Hot Springs, Plains, St Regis, on past Couer d’ Alene and come see Western Illinois - EWU on the most beautiful turf in the world with kalm. Then tske 95 down through Riggins and McCall to Boise.
Go West, young man!

That's tempting. But will it be loud, and will it be cold?

I wonder what a team like Tarleton State would think of playing the chipper at Wa-Griz. Would it be anything like the Chargers playing at Buffalo late in the playoffs?

I'm afraid Wa-Griz won't be graced by my presence this year. I'll keep trying in future years.

Bummer. You doing alright, bro?

I'm fine thanks! Just keeping a watchful eye on the economy and my plummeting 401k. I opted for two weeks in NC, mostly at the outer banks, instead of nearly a month out west. If I can get a ticket, I'll get to see Oregon State play App in Boone.
