After some poor clock management and a false start, McNeese misses a 45-yard FG.
Tarleton holds on to win 26-23.

Both of the early games make the ranked winners look bad, though the commentators tried to talk up Tarleton State due to how "quickly" they've acclimated to FCS. (They've actually been quite slow, particularly in comparison to St. Thomas.) Of all FBS teams, New Mexico (though not as bad as NM State by any stretch) should have been a blowout win for MT State. SMH....

FAMU edges out Norfolk 24-23 after trailing 14-0. Norfolk tried to go for 2 to take the lead with 6:29 to go.
SEMO dominates the second half to beat North Alabama 37-15. The Lions had 4 turnovers and 2 failed fourth downs.

Rattlers need to work on defense they allowed the Spartans to accumulate 369 total Including 146 rushing yds most of it on a 82 yd dash.
