NAU 44-3 NOCO

  • NConf Record: 0-0
    Overall: 22-24

    vs. FCS: 0-0
    Overall: 17-12

Best Performance: (#2) Montana St. 30, (#4) UC Davis 28 - The Bobcats scored 30 straight points fueled by 6 sacks, 2 forced turnovers, and a punt-return TD by Taco Dowler… and then nothing interesting happened after that. ;)

Worst Performance: Idaho St. 42, Eastern Washington 77 - The Bengals lose rushing 478-114 and register a whopping 1 tackle-for-loss, the only defensive stat they recorded other than just tackles.

Most Surprising Result: Eastern Washington 77, Idaho St. 42 - The Eagles scored a touchdown on literally every single one of their offensive drives. I don't think I've ever seen that before… aside from in, like, Tecmo Super Bowl or NFL Blitz. :?

Worst Performance: Northwestern St. 3, McNeese St. 35 - On average this season, the Demons are being outscored 44-10 and outgained 488-218.

    Most Surprising Result: (none)

Missouri Valley

MIZST 21-59 NDSU
SIU 10-41 SDKST
ILST 31-19 INST
UNI 38-39 YSU (OT)
MUR 6-48 UK

  • NConf Record: 0-1
    Overall: 23-20

    Overall: 21-7

Best Performance: (#1) North Dakota St. 59, (AGS #13) Missouri St. 21 - The Bison win rushing 364-86 and score on 9 of their 11 offensive drives in surprisingly lopsided victory.

Worst Performance: Northern Iowa 38, Youngstown St. 39 (OT) - The Panthers, who have dominated their all-time series with the Penguins overall, lose in Youngstown for the 4th. time in last 5 trips.

Most Surprising Result: (AGS #13) Missouri St. 21, (#1) North Dakota St. 59 - The Bears' 8-game win streak apparently meant nothing in the Fargo Dome as they fell behind 28-0 less than halfway through the second quarter.

UAC

UWG 34-31 UTU
ACU 35-31 TARL
SUU 38-31 UCA
EKU 30-27 AP (OT)

  • NConf Record: 0-0
    Overall: 14-19

    vs. FCS: 0-0
    Overall: 11-10

Best Performance: (#14) Abilene Christian 35, (#13) Tarleton St. 31 - Wildcat QB Maverick McIvor, who leads all of FCS in passing yardage, throws for 391 yards and 3 TDs (0 INTs) including a 1-yard game-winner to RB Sam Hicks with 19 seconds left.

Worst Performance: Utah Tech 31, West Georgia 34 - The Blazers were stymied in their attempt to win 2 in a row thanks to West Georgia scoring 20 straight points to open the second half.

Most Surprising Result: (#13) Tarleton St. 31, (#14) Abilene Christian 35 - Victor Gabalis threw for 304 yards and 3 touchdowns on just 20 attempts, and that still wasn't enough for the Texans to keep the auto-bid out of ACU's hands.

Pioneer

STET 6-45 USD
MHEAD 29-20 DRAKE
STTHOM 20-36 BUT
VALPO 14-26 DAY
PRESBY 42-23 MARIST

    vs. FCS: 0-0
    Overall: 4-17

Best Performance: Morehead St. 29, Drake 20 - The Eagles close the game with 16 unanswered points as they win in Des Moines for the first time ever.

Worst Performance: Marist 23, Presbyterian 42 - The Red Foxes lose to Presbyterian for the first time in 4 all-time meetings in part because they allowed 2 50+ yard TD catches to Cincere Gill.

Most Surprising Result: Drake 20, Morehead St. 29 - The Bulldogs are prevented from clinching the auto-bid as they allow 29 points to a team that had only broken 20 points against a DI opponent once this season.

Worst Performance: Charleston Southern 13, Eastern Illinois 16 (OT) - You don't see too many minimum-distance 18-yard field goals these days, but CSU's fourth-down failure in overtime allowed EIU to kick an 18-yarder to win it.

Most Surprising Result: (#18) Tennessee-Martin 9, Tennessee Tech 10 - The Skyhawks' playoff hopes suddenly got a bit rockier as their offense gets shut out at home (they got a blocked-punt TD and an intentional safety).

DART 22-39 COR
COLUM 21-12 BROWN
PRINCE 28-42 YALE

  • NConf Record: 0-0

    vs. FCS: 0-0
    Overall: 16-7

Best Performance: Cornell 39, Dartmouth 22 - The Big Red defense gets 5 sacks, 3 interceptions, and a fumble-return TD by Hunter Sloan as Cornell picks up their best win of the season.

Worst Performance: Dartmouth 22, Cornell 39 - After a 6-0 start, the Big Green have now lost 2 of their last 3.

Most Surprising Result: Cornell 39, Dartmouth 22 - Cornell still convincingly pulled the upset despite a subpar game from QB Jameson Wang (26/44, 212 yards, 2 TDs, 3 INTs).

MEAC

SCSU 54-7 MORG
DSU 19-38 NFOLK
HOW 3-26 NCCEN

  • NConf Record: 0-0
    Overall: 17-23

    vs. FCS: 0-0
    Overall: 11-17

Best Performance: South Carolina St. 54, Morgan St. 7 - The Bulldogs win handily, and clinch the MEAC's Celebration Bowl berth, by scoring 3 rushing TDs, 3 passing TDs, and 2 interception-return TDs.

Worst Performance: Delaware St. 19, Norfolk St. 38 - The Hornets actually won yardage in this one, but that doesn't really matter when a team commits 2 turnovers, goes 0/3 on fourth down, and loses penalties 11-3.

    Most Surprising Result: (none)

SWAC

BCU 14-17 TXSO
ALCORN 26-13 PVAMU
UAPB 9-31 SU
MVSU 24-21 FAMU
BCU 14-17 TXSO
JSU 16-10 ALST

  • NConf Record: 0-0
    Overall: 14-28

    vs. FCS: 0-0
    Overall: 5-15

Best Performance: (#23) Jackson St. 16, Alabama St. 10 - The Tigers hold ASU to 4 yards passing as they clinch the SWAC-East and home-field advantage for the SWAC Championship Game.

Worst Performance: Florida A&M 21, Mississippi Valley St. 24 - The suddenly freefalling Rattlers lose turnovers 3-0 and suffer an unthinkable defeat.

Most Surprising Result: Mississippi Valley St. 24, Florida A&M 21 - Nathan Rembert catches 7 passes for 130 yards and a TD to help the Delta Devils end a 15-game losing streak and get their first road win in 3 years.

Independents

SACHRT 31-20 MERR

  • Non-Ind. Record: 0-0
    Overall: 8-11

    vs. FCS: 0-0
    Overall: 7-8

Best Performance: Sacred Heart 31, Merrimack 20 - Jalen Madison runs for 170 yards and a touchdown as the Pioneers win a "Battle of the Independents."

Worst Performance: Merrimack 20, Sacred Heart 31 - The running games were good and the passing games were horrible for both teams, so the real difference turned out to be penalties: the Warriors lost penalties 14-2.

Most Surprising Result: Merrimack 20, Sacred Heart 31 - I wasn't really sure why Merrimack was favored by more than 2 touchdowns in the first place, and that spread seems especially stupid now. :?
