Halloween weekend. Time for the contenders to rise to the top and the pretenders to change back into pumpkins. Everyone plays this weekend on a full docket of games in the conference. After splitting the games last week, I am now 57-14 for the year. I need a perfect week to make the record look decent. Here are my predictions for the games this weekend, starting with another game on Friday.
UI at NAU---The Vandals looked like they got back on track with a solid home win last week against Portland State. The Lumberjacks took care of Idaho State on the road. Both teams have had some disappointing moments but both are hoping they've turned a corner. But really, who can get this win?...NAU 31, UI 17.
ISU at UCD---The Bengals' dream for a great season took a nosedive last week with a tough home loss to Northern Arizona. The Aggies, on the other hand, continued their winning ways with a tough conference road win against Northern Colorado. They are playing at their home, keeping tabs on the leaders...UCD 35, ISU 24.
UM at WSU---The Grizzlies kept their unblemished record going with a good road win at Sacramento State last weekend. The Wildcats could not get a home win over a lower conference opponent as their season continues to go south. A win for the Wildcats here would give it a boost, but its the Grizzlies...UM 45, WSU 14.
MSU at UNC---The Bobcats have been rolling as well, with a tough road win last week, adding Cal Poly to their list of victims. The Bears have been scaring everyone lately, but not getting many wins in the process. Halloween weekend, good time to scare the top team, but the Bears still falter...MSU 31, UNC 17.
SAC at EWU---The Hornets tried to show they were ready for the next level, but they could not get past Montana at home. The Eagles pushed their conference record to 3-1 last week with a win over Weber State. No impressive wins for the Eagles. This could be one, but they probably can't win it...SAC 38, EWU 31.
PSU at CP---The Vikings continued their losing ways last week, falling on the road to Idaho. The Mustangs put up a gallant fight against the Bobcats, only to fall down at the Bobcats' feet at the end of the game. This could be a feel good game for the Mustangs as that seems to be what the Vikings are now...CP 38, PSU 17.
