Final week. Rivalry week. And the Big Sky has three great rivalry matchups this week. The Brawl of the Wild and the Causeway Classic are going to be really good this year and the Potato Bowl is also going to be good as well. The conference should get three teams in the playoffs next week and maybe four depending on other games across the nation. Here are this week's power rankings (last week in parenthesis). All are my opinion only.

1. Montana State (1)---Last week beat UC Davis at home 38-17, this week at Montana---The Bobcats continue to steamroll their competition in their quest for the top spot in the conference. They took care of business last week against the Aggies, now they turn to their fierce rival in the Grizzlies. This is on the road.

2. Montana (2)---Last week won at Portland State 63-17, this week Montana State at home---The Grizzlies have turned away all comers and are on the verge of an undefeated season. They won on the road last week against the hapless Vikings. Things will get difficult this week as they face the Bobcats at home.

3. Sacramento State (4)---Last week beat Idaho at home 23-20, this week at UC Davis---The Hornets needed some late game heroics to gain a tough home win over the Vandals and keep their playoff hopes alive. They make the short trip this weekend to their tough conference rivals, the Aggies, outside of their home.

4. UC Davis (3)---Last week lost at Montana State 38-17, this week Sacramento State at home---The Aggies ran into the conference buzzsaw last weekend, losing on the road to the Bobcats. They still have a legitimate shot at the playoffs as they host their rivals, the Hornets in a winner take all battle.

5. Northern Arizona (5)---Last week beat Cal Poly at home 35-27, this week at Weber State---Can the Lumberjacks sneak into the playoffs? They may need some things to break perfectly for them. They just need to keep winning, as they did last week against the Mustangs, and how they hope to do against the Wildcats.

6. Idaho State (6)---Last week beat Weber State at home 31-3, this week at Idaho---All things considered, the Bengals have had a great season. No playoffs on the horizon, but a great season nonetheless. They got a resounding win at home last week against their lesser rivals. They can get another win against their major rivals.

7. Idaho (7)---Last week lost at Sacramento State 23-20, this week Idaho State at home---A disappointing season for the Vandals this year, culminating in an unfortunate loss on the road to the Hornets last week, a game that looked like a win until the end. They come home, playing for pride against their rivals.

8. Eastern Washington (8)---Last week beat Northern Colorado at home 27-7, this week at Cal Poly---No playoffs in the picture for this feisty Eagles squad that has had some great moments this season. They got an impressive win last week against the Bears. They finish on the road, hoping for another win over the Mustangs.

9. Northern Colorado (9)---Last week lost at Eastern Washington 27-7, this week Portland State at home---The Bears have been far more competitive this season than in years past, but still no wins to show for it. They dropped the game last week at the Eagles home turf. They finish the year at home against the Vikings.

10. Cal Poly (10)---Last week lost at Northern Arizona 35-27, this week Eastern Washington at home---The Mustangs also have shown a resiliency towards being relevant in the conference this year, but wins have been tough to get. They lost to the Lumberjacks last week on the road. They come home to face the Eagles this weekend.

11. Weber State (11)---Last week lost at Idaho State 31-3, this week Northern Arizona at home---A disappointing year for the Wildcats as they have been near the bottom all season. An ugly loss on the road to their rivals last weekend did not help things. They come home and welcome the Lumberjacks, hoping to play spoiler.

12. Portland State (12)---Last week lost to Montana at home 63-17, this week at Northern Colorado---The Vikings hung tough to one of the conference heavies last weekend at their old home grounds, but then the floodgates opened, washing them away. They would like to close out this season with a road win over the Bears.

RECAP: 1-2 out front, 3-4 just behind, 5-7 fading a bit, 8 holding steady, 9-12 in the rear.
