Don't be surprised to see the Bears make a showing this season and a better one next year.

The classes have improved. Terry Allen is getting the program moving in the right direction. With a new AD coming in look for more money to flow to the football program.

Are the Bears going to be able to put up more than 90 yards of offense against UNI?

That is their improvement. They are shooting for 102 yards. I believe they had about half their yards on one possession...maybe one play... last year.

I think MSU should be a little bit more concerned with their defense, they did give up 300 rushing yards per game. I still don't know how a team can give up that many rushing yards, but somehow they did.

The Bears had 42 of their 81 total offensive yards during one 4th quarter drive.
Unfortunately for them, that drive ended with an interception, which Craig James ran back 75 yards for a TD.

Terry Allen hasn't done shit since he left UNI. It all boils down to a few things:

Coaching and retaining exellent assistants
Motivating players
Recruiting

All of which are questionable and indicative of inherent flaws in MSU and Terry Allen.
"Sarah Palin absolutely blew AWAY the audience tonight. If there was any doubt as to whether she was savvy enough, tough enough or smart enough to carry the mantle of Vice President, she put those fears to rest tonight. She took on Barack Obama DIRECTLY on every issue and exposed... She did it with warmth and humor, and came across as the every-person....it's becoming mroe and more clear that she was a genius pick for McCain."

Thank you. I knew it was in the fourth quarter and the drive didn't end well for them. I don't think that was against our starters either.

But then, UNI has to replace a large part of their defense from last year.
So who knows how it will turn out....

Watch out for YSU.
If Summers stays healthy, they will be tough to beat. If Summers get's injured, YSU will find the basement.

Our defense looked fabulous in the Spring Game yesterday. It was tough to judge the offense. We are loaded at RB, but we are limited at QB. Our backups at QB are really bad.... and I mean really bad.

Every D looks good when playing the Penguins. ;)

You guys better be careful, you're about to fall into the MSU/WIU category. Last year was terrible. I've never been so out of a football game as when I tried to watch our game at Stambaugh Stadium. Real attendance must have been 2-3k in that giant stadium. I hope for a better show when I come back in 2010.

Our record was a disgrace by that point in the season and the weather was pretty bad, hence the bad attendance. Too bad the atmosphere wasn't like the NDSU game in week 3, it was electric.

We are no MSU or WIU. We started 25+ different starters after the Ohio State game, due to injuries and a few players quitting. I'd like to see many teams win with that many new starters.

In my eyes:
-Should have never had lost @ SUU.
-Should never had lost vs. Liberty.
-Should have, at least had the opportunity to, beat UNI at home.
-Should have beaten ILSU, who we were leading at half.
-Had an opportunity to win @ MSU, down just 1 score at half.

That's at least five games that could have turned in our favor. The other 3: OSU, SDSU, and SIU were all blowouts.

You had your chance to beat UNI at your house, on your homecoming, with UNI having a freshman QB and you didn't. Replay that game 9 more times under those same cirucmastances UNI wins going away 7 of them.

We were 2-6.
We had lost 4 in a row.
We were coming off a 31-0 blowout loss to SIU.

Of course UNI wins that game going away. Here's the problem: UNI should have killed us and they did not. From that point on, there was no doubt in my mind that the Panthers would not win a National Title. If they couldn't kill us during the worst season in years, then I had great doubts they could win the National Championship.

Heacock and YSU have never been able to beat UNI, what makes you think we would the year we were 2-6!!?!?!?!

Again, I bring up the fact it was garbage weather, UNI was playing a freshman QB, at your place, on your homecoming, against a 2-6 team that was your chance to beat UNI for the first time in almost 10 years. You blew you shot at it. You losing streak to UNI will rival PSU's to Michigan by the time you beat UNI.

Our best chance to beat UNI was NOT last year when we were 2-6.

Our BEST chance was in 2006 when we had a near sell-out on Homecoming and we were 6-2 and ranked #5 in the nation and you guys were ranked #14. We lost that game 31-23.

I laugh as you argue that the 2-6 team was our best chance to beat UNI.

They probably will, but you never know. In the past 3 years:
UNI has beaten YSU 3 times by a combined 10 points:
-2006: 31-23
-2007: 14-13
-2008: 21-20

At least we are not getting blown out by the Panthers anymore.. One of these days we'll beat then Panthers!

I know. I just like to give you guys a hard time. Just keep in mind that in the new MVFC, if you're not heading up, you're heading down.

I see things like this in 09:

Top tier:
UNI
SIU

Just behind, in the running for the crown:
NDSU
SDSU
YSU

Bringing up the rear, in order:
WIU
Il St
IN ST (seriously)
Mo St

I don't care if we win by 1 a win is a win. As Richmond the difference between a one point win and a blow out win. There isn't one.
