One of the nation’s fastest players returns as ASU’s primary kick returner and a solid member of the Apps’ receiving corps ... is poised for a breakout year, especially on the offensive side of the ball.

2006: Racked up 476 all-purpose yards on 30 touches in first season after transferring from Rhode Island ... coaches tried a variety of ways to get the ball in the speedster’s hands ... two-thirds of his 30 touches came on kick returns (20-401 yds., good for seventh in the SoCon) ... rushed six times, primarily on reverses, for 52 yards, good for an impressive 8.7 ypr average ... also caught four passes for 23 yards ... made four starts at wide receiver.

2005: Did not see game action due to NCAA transfer rules.

Previous College: Led Rhode Island with 16 receptions for 287 yards and a touchdown as a true freshman in 2004.

High School: An all-state selection as a kick returner and all-metro honoree at wide receiver at Mays H.S. in Atlanta ... recorded 56 receptions for 563 yards and five touchdowns and returned two kicks for touchdowns as a senior ... coached by Darrell Caldwell ... was teammates at Mays with current Mountaineers Anthony Cruver and Bryon Heath.

Jeff Larson played well this past spring and could see action this season as a “true” freshman.

2006: He enrolled at UM in the winter semester, 2007.

High school: He participated in four sports at Cut Bank High School and earned 11 letters: four in tennis, three in football and basketball, and one in golf...he won an impressive eight state championships in his prep career, garnering four state titles in tennis (2003-04-05-06), three in basketball (2004-05-06), and one in football (2006)...he was a four-time all-state selection in tennis, and twice in football at quarterback and twice in basketball as well...he was the state basketball tournament MVP in basketball as a junior and senior...he was team captain in football as a senior, in basketball as a junior, and in tennis his last two seasons..he averaged 16.0 points and almost 8.0 rebounds a game in basketball his both his junior and senior seasons...as a junior he passed for 1,512 yards and 13 touchdowns and rushed for 458 yards and 12 scores...his senior season he threw for 2,212 yards and 34 touchdowns and rushed for 761 yards and nine touchdowns....his high school football coach was Paul Schilling.
