After almost 2 years of turmoil in Statesboro, we fans of GSU are extremely excited about Saturday. Everything that's happened this off-season has been positive. Coach Chris Hatcher comes in with a head coaching record of 76-12. Many hear really hated to see the Triple Option go away, but we're excited to see what the Hatch Attack can do.

LET'S GO EAGLES!

Best of luck to you in Statesboro. I really enjoyed the hospitality when NDSU was there last year. What a great bunch of fans!!!

Glad you had a great trip, we hope to have NDSU back many times in the future (but with better outcomes for GSU ;) )

You are the first person from an opposing team that I have ever heard talk well about the Southern Eagles' hospitality. Every time I've gone everyone seems to yell at me to either cause myself bodily harm or fornicate myself... They do have great fans unless you are a rival or an opponent though!

jerbearasu:

First let me congratulate you and all of the App State faithful on the App States fantastic win over Michigan last weekend... I think all of us in the SOCON puffed up our respective chests at that victory...

As to the less than friendly welcome the App State fans have received when in Statesboro.. Well, lets face it.. Our two respective schools do have a bit of "history" in that area, right? Unless my memory deceives me I think GSU fans might have the same complaint when our Eagles play in Boone. (Flagpole thru GSU team bus windows comes to mind).

The folks who come into Paulson (or when our Eagles go there) from the Dakotas have no such history with GSU, and I think both programs have shown respect to the other, so other than for winning or losing a particular game there is no negative "history" to deal with.

Plus every school has a small percentage of idiots, and it seems those idiots manage to make big fools of themselves to visitors. A negative impression of the entire program and school is given, when in actuality it's just a small group causing the problem.

Did I mention I want to apologize in advance for the whipping our Eagles intend to put on App State in Boone later this season?

Did I mention that I'm a GSU "HOMER" and when I wrote the previous sentence I was on drugs?

Best Wishes,

J. Pomeroy

I'd like to echo the statements by PX15. Most at Georgia Southern really love their football. We are a passionate fanbase. We do like to talk a little trash here and there, but it's all done in good fun. I can tell you that rivalries are built with a mutual respect. I hope everyone that comes to Paulson for a game are treated very well. I guarantee if you make rounds through the booster lot most tailgaters will welcome you. I look forward to my first visit to Boone in October. It will be sweet leaving goat breeding grounds 7-0.

See ya then.

:-)

I speak for the rowdies among us Georgia Southern fans when I say to go fornicate ye self App st.
I love the fact that some people are afraid to come to paulson. These people must not get out much, because while we at GSU are hardcore, a stern dog cussin' is about the most you'll get. Deal with it, you babies.

It was a good win out of the gates for GSU. I just watched the coach's show, and it was strange to see Hatcher wearing blue and referencing somebody else as "we".
