Well according to this this kid is visiting the campus in Missoula today and judging from what i have seen on some highlights of this kid at oregon he is very very good. Griz would be smart to pick this guy up. Here are some highlights of him vs South Florida in the 2007 Sun Bowl.

Great. Another Delaware.

Sign him before Keeler oozes over there and snags him for his own.

Just show him some of the trim over in the rec center and he'll sign in a heartbeat.

Well nothing wrong with that as Deleware snagged Joe Flacco that way and look where he lead them, not necessarily a bad thing.

Well there's also Gannon, Flacco, Schoenhoft, and now Devlin. UDel brings in transfer QBs from IAs and it has definitely affected their ability to recruit and grow their own. Different schools, different philosophies.

Some transfers have worked like Flacco, but then there's always one like Schoenhoft.

I think we've had two in our history.

Gannon wasn't a transfer.

You're right, my mistake. I was thinking he played alot later than he actually did, and was thinking of Hall or Riccio. However, I think my point still stands that some transfers work great, and others, not so much.

Agreed. I think Flacco is more of the exception than the rule.

Think some more. Do the names Drew Miller, Brandon Neill, Craig Ochs, Jason Washington, Josh Swogger ring a bell?

I loved watching Swogger and would probably love watching Roper in a Griz uni.

Really? Swogger was OK, but he was far from great.

Yeah I remember watching him in '06 when he dominated McNeese and when Ferriter broke his arm.

Took this picture from that game:

And saw this one on eGriz of Ferriter's arm:

Roper has a stick for an arm but is not bad on his feet.

It'd be awesome for UM to pick up both Pflugrad and Roper - then I could really continue cheering for them.

Great way to disrupt the chemistry of a team, but makes for great fan discussions.

That's contrary to everything I've seen and read about Roper. All reports are that he is a drop back QB with a great arm and limited mobility. He's 6-6, 215 lbs. so a string bean type. The video I've seen certainly doesn't give the impression he's mobile. Whether of not he ends up at um remains to be seen, an interview with his Dad said it was just the first of several campuses he will be visiting before making a decision.

The loss of a five year QB and team leader causes a discontinuity on the the offensive side of the ball irrespective of who is the next QB. Better he be the best you can find. None of the incumbent QB candidates had enough PT to establish anything resembling "chemistry."

Word when Roper left Oregon was that he wanted to play closer to home (he's from Georgia). I don't see Missoula being much closer to Georgia than Eugene. Maybe there's more going on behind the scenes at Oregon than people are led to believe. I had originally heard he was going to end up in the SoCon, possibly Georgia Southern. Maybe he's looking for a better fit.

Of course, Bozeman is much closer to GA than Missoula.
