These guys were questioning whether or not the Griz can beat Albany. Come on guys let's get real. If tnothing else this in at Wa/Griz. This kind of banter makes me question your legitimacy. Montana in a run away.

You must have misunderstood. No one questioned if they can beat Albany. They said if Montana ever lost to a team like Albany it would be a huge disappointed. In fact Ray was quoted as saying, “I will never pick Montana to win another game if they ever lost to Albany.” Ralph said, “If Albany ever beat Montana with 45 less scholarships, which would be a bigger differential than App State beating Michigan. It would be a huge upset.”
No one affiliated with this network would have ever picked Albany to beat a ranked school.

Also, you can now listen to the archives and podcasts at

We listened to it again and could not find anything that was said that would indicate that anyone picked Albany to even be close.

I listened to tonights show. Had a lot of great things to say about Montana. Being a fan of a former NEC schools I got a kick out of what they said about the Albany Montana game. I never took it as anyone thinking Albany was going to win. I was laughing when I hear them say they would always pick Albany to win a NEC game but they would never pick Albany to win a game outside of the NEC. I remember one of the two saying that if Montana ever lost the game they would never pick montana again for the rest of their life.
Something tells me they don't think Albany will be close. Where did you hear that?

Drake 27 Illinois State University 24
Drake - Zero Scholarships
ISU - 63 Scholarships
So I guess you consider this upset to be bigger than the App. State win over Michigan? I also gather that no one on this network would ever pick a PFL team over a full scholly team? I guess that no one on this network would have picked San Diego over Northern Colorado?
I'm not saying that Albany can defeat Montana, but if they did, I for one would not be shocked out of my Western Boots and Cowboy hat!

I hear what you are saying and they did speak about Drake. They even had Drake in the Top 5 games this week. If you have questions for them call the show. I'm sure they will talk about it on air. They didn't say it was a bigger upset. It was a thought that was thrown out there that was easily turned away. I believe the quote on that was, "It's nowhere close".
However, Montana hardly ever loses a home game, they are ranked #2, I dont think Albany ever beat a ranked team, and Albany needs to go cross country. Drake had a bus trip, they do have some football tradition, and the Pioneer League has had more success than the Northeast Conference.

I think everyone would agree that Delaware was not the 11th best team in the country last year. It was a down year for them. They were no where close to being ranked, let alone the 11th ranked team in the country. Also, CCSU is a conference game. You would hope teams have the ability to win conference games.
We are not knocking Albany, we are not knocking any team in the Pioneer or Northeast Conference. It's just the people opinion that work at theis Network that Albany will not beat Montana. No one here even thinks it will be close. If you disagree feel free to go on air and make your point. I'm sure the guys would love to have you on. They had a Hofstra fan on this week that had a rant that Hofstra is being given to much credit and they still need to prove themselves.
Please give us a call next week and express your thoughts. We look forward to it.

WHEN Albany played Delaware, Delaware was absolutely ranked #11 in FCS. Yeah, Delaware had a bad year, but that does not change the fact that Albany defeated a ranked FCS team. No different than App. State defeating a top 5 FBS team. Yeah, it turns out that UM stinks, but the fact is that when they played, UM was a top 5 FBS team. I would be hard pressed to say that Albany will defeat Montana. If I had to pick the game, I would certainly go with Montana, as I'm sure many Albany fans would. That said, very few App. State fans gave them a prayer in Ann Arbor and we all know how that turned out....

My apologies if I misunderstood you guys yesterday. I was in between phone calls and kids trying to listen to the broadcast and obviously misinterpreted things. I really enjoy your show and find it a refreshing change from the TSN, CSN, AGS fare. Keep up the good work.
PS: Albany concerns me. IMO an overconfident or underprepared Griz might lose this game just as they lost to NDSU when they were DII. However, they won't be over confident or unprepared.
