Feagin reportedly plans to transfer to Appy State

ESPN's Joe Schad is reporting that former Michigan quarterback/slot receiver Justin Feagin plans to transfer to FCS power Appalachian State and could play this season as long as he's academically eligible.

Michigan dismissed Feagin last month for an unspecified violation of team rules.

The Michigan-Appalachian State connection here is somewhat intriguing, though I doubt Feagin is trying to stick it to his old school by joining a team that handed the Wolverines arguably their most shocking loss ever (until Toledo last year). Appalachian State, as many of us found out after the upset in Ann Arbor, has been a first-rate program at the FCS level and a good destination for transfers.

Feagin came to Michigan as a quarterback and competed briefly for the starting job before being moved to slot receiver.

Well it will be interesting considering FU caught crap simply because Forcier had a jerky personal website. so let's see the comments about taking a guy kicked off another team for rules violations ;)

Yeah, we'll see what happens. I'm interested to know what the violations were. According to some Michigan people he spoke out against Rich Rod last season, but who knows. This was the first any App people I know had heard of it. It wasn't on the MMB until ESPN reported it.

Maybe the guy was just trying to stick it in the eye of the Michigan coaches. I have no problems with transfers, FU has had some good ones. Most of my chuckles came from certain GSU fans who made fun FU's transfer when their QB transfer was kicked off the OSU team after getting arrested for soliciting a prostitute and then felt the need to bash Forcier for writing a stupid website while defending GSU for giving a guy a second chance. Let's see, stupid website versus getting arrested, yeah it sounds comparable to me.

Don't think anyone has actually said that Forcier would create as many image problems as Henton. But come on, you have to admit that the Forciers press release was pretty funny. You can expect many allusions to "Fuhman" in the next few years. I look forward to it.

Does not look good for Feagin:

"The Detroit Free Press reported on its Web site Sunday night that Feagin was involved in a failed cocaine deal with a fellow Michigan student that later resulted in the student setting a fire near Feagin's dorm room in March. The student, T.J. Burke, pleaded guilty Wednesday to felony arson and agreed to pay Michigan $14,213. Burke faces up to 10 years in jail. "

Sounds like a lot more than just marijuana! It will be interesting to see what we do!

I think App will be great without him

The idea wasn't that they compared image problems but that they criticized Furman getting the transfer because of the web site when GSU had taken a transfer who left because he got arrested. The comparison is what was funny. The problem was they criticized a kid as being a jerk and too arrogant when two years earlier they didn't seem to have a problem with taking a two bit criminal.

Yes the web site was funny.

I don't think ASU needs him on the field. I hope Moore doesn't take him. Moore's rep is a good one.

I agree. We don't need him. I would be surprised if we took him.

ESPN is now reporting that Feagin will not be cleared to enroll/play at ASU.

Good for us - I agree we don't need him, especially looking at the QB talent on appfan.com.

Yes the web site was funny.
I'm not so sure Henton left Ohio State as much for his arrest for solicitation as much as it was for Terrelle Pryor going to Ohio State and being MOL handed the starting job. Henton stayed through spring practice after the arrest and didn't leave until it was MOL definite Pryor was going there.

In further developments in the Feagins/Appalachian State story it was reported that Feagins thought "The Rock" was something to smoke or sell, not a place to play football, hence his interest in Appalachian State.

Feagins and the university both apologized for any misunderstanding and both parties now consider the matter closed.

Well that is good hear. I thought he was dismissed from the team. Sorry about spreading misinformation.

Friends down in Boone...I recall recent comments about a Mr. Rose...??? Seems Appy may offer a young man a chance at redemption.

Gotta admit the commet about "the rock" being confused with something to smoke or sell is funny

You're about 3 days too late. He was turned down after we found out he was a piece of shit. You're coach could learn a thing or two.
