1st Game WHITE OUT
ODU FANS: The folks running promotions for ODU football to NOT want to make an "OFFICIAL" call for colors for the first game, except, to say wear ODU gear. Given that the normal temperature for Sept. 5, in Norfolk is in the mid 80's, and that the sun will still be burning down for the first half, I and a lot of folks I know are
"UNOFFICIALLY" calling the
first game a "WHITE OUT." Please spread the word. Put it on all the boards you can and wear your ODU White to the game. If 20,000 fans show up in white the Monarch Nation can't all be wrong. Only seven days to go to kick-off, I'll see you at the game, I will be the one in white!
GO ODU - WHITE OUT.

Thanks for all the kind responses to the
fan inspired suggestion for a
"WHITE OUT" for the first
ODU game this Saturday. So far from all the boards I posted on I have had about 800 "looks" with several hundred responses in the positive and ONE negative
. My fellow fan helpers seem to be getting almost entirely a positive repsonse as well. The
Monarch Maniacs are wearing
white to the game and are encouraging the other students to do so, which should help. The weather is helping also, current forcast for is for partly sunny and 83 at kickoff. Many folks have said they were wearing white anyway for the heat/sun. In any case thanks for for your consideration. Of course, the most important thing is that we all give the team our support and enjoy the game.

I think it is good for all of FCS to add another serious program to the national championship hunt. It will take us a few years to get in the mix with our play on the field, but we are coming out of the chutes with everything else at the top of the list.

So, chances aren't good of getting a ticket anywhere near face value?

Like any sporting event, there are always extra tickets floating around. Walk the lots and I'm sure you will come accross tickets at face value.

I would love to see the students and band in white and the rest of the stadium in blue. That would look really cool in a packed house.
Then again...it's going to look great in a packed house no matter what the fans wear.

I just want to say good luck trying to pull this off. JMU tried to get a mandatory "Purple Out" for our game against Montana last year, with advertising the whole week, Facebook, our athletics site, everywhere we could put it. And it was nowhere near a full purple out. It's just too hard to coordinate that many people who haven't grown up in that tradition, like Penn State, who can say 'white out' and everyone will do it. But I will be very impressed if you guys can do this.
