2011 National Championship Game Location

If the contract is ending with Chatty, where will the new location be if anywhere else? Where should it be and why?

I haven't seen any other threads besides the one about Missoula (cold).

Does it need to be an FCS city? Since an FCS title game wouldn't likely fill up an FBS stadium.

I imagine Chatty will keep it.

God, I hope it ends up being Missoula, just to piss off all the vaginas on this site.

I am fairly sure it will be in Chattanooga and I would be shocked if it was awarded to Missoula but for purely selfish reasons I voted for the Missoula location.

I took San Marvellous just because I'm an optimist at heart and I know it's wishful thinking. Yes, with this years expansion we didn't add alot of seats. Just suites and club seating, bringing the total to 15,908. This off season we will add another 8400. total 24,308

Here's a site that shows the stages as they will be added, in a gif format

You should have tossed in Youngstown State to that list, although they won't get it either.

Why not hold it at the Hall of Fame in Canton, OH? It would be great for the kids to have the opportunity to play at the Professional Football Hall of Fame and enjoy the surroundings. Fawcett Stadium would be a perfect fit for the FCS Title Game! The Akron-Canton Airport is 5 minutes up the freeway and they got flights to just about every city in the USA.

Capacity: 22,500

I voted Boone since it was an option.

No way it would be there though...

I voted for Chatty, but this is a pretty good idea...

It's in the center of the FCS universe...the right size...the networks all know it and I bet it is hard-wired...and the history makes it great...

One draw-back is the weather....but hey, this is football...

Consider.

Montana has been to the NC game 4 times in 9 years.
There is a fair possibility that they can return to the NC game in 2010.

If the Griz are in the NC game, fans will fill the stadium regardless of weather.
If the Griz are not in the NC game, there will likely still be as many fans as have attended in Chatty.

Everyone seems to assume that the NCAA cares about a specific group of fans (those of the participating teams).....they don't.

The NCAA cares about $$$$$.

Imagine a full stadium of 25k plus (looks great on TV).
Imagine the atmosphere in Wa/Griz if Montana is an NC participant in 2010.
Big time atmosphere, 25 thousand fans, 25 Thousand LOUD fans, 25 thousand PAYING fans.

.....and $$$$$$$, lots of $$$$$$$!

As for those fans who can't get to Missoula due to travel issues (cost, weather, airline service, etc.)..........there's always TV.

The possibility of a Championship game on the frozen tundra isn't all that unrealistic.

And how would you like it, Montana, if you have to play for the NC at App State in Boone?

No worse than having to beat Marshall at Huntington, which we did once in two tries.

And could you have been two for two on a neutral site?

Even though I voted San Marcos for fun, the best site is Chatty. I say keep it there.

I don't want the game in Missoula for one simple reason: When the Griz are in the game, it'll just bring all the whiney, bitchy vaginas (GATW's word) out of the woodwork about how Montana won another NC without ever having to play on the road.

Very unlikely considering how thoroughly Randy Moss schooled us and the rest of 1AA that year.

Maybe G State will place the highest bid and the NCG will be in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta?

I am going to stick with Canton, OH. I think they could make a great weekend out of having the game at the Hall of Fame. The weather in Canton isn't much different than the weather was back in the early 90s in Huntington, WV.

I think having it at a non-FCS, hell a non-NCAA stadium of this size would be perfect. It's a fabulous facility, perfect for TV, and easy accessible from anywhere in the Continental USA!

I like the Canton idea - cold as it is, and virtual YSU home game that it'd be (if they ever get back there...)

neutral size, good size, wired for tv already, familiar setting, pro football hof right next door as a secondary draw - since my idea of Orlando was shouted down for being way too big... which i guess it is for now... let's go with Canton.

what about FIU stadium in Miami? easy to get to destination (pretty easy to convince fans to travel to Miami in Nov/Dec) - holds 23,500
