UNI vs. YSU

The fabulous UNI-Dome will be sold out (again!) and UNI is coming off of a strong win @ WIU. Youngstown got beat and is probably going to be mad and playing for their playoff lives.

Who wins??

In the Dome, UNI should win. The Penguins will be highly motivated, though. Two of the best Ds in the league are matched up. It could come down to turnovers.

You will either get a YSU team that is ticked or a team that saw their playoff dreams go up in smoke. Either way I think UNI wins by at least 14.

If you get the YSU team that is ticked, which I am hoping for, this game will be very close the whole way. If you get the Penguin team from the last 3 weeks, UNI will win by 21.

With 1 Less Turnover Last year, YSU would've won... So I feel it comes down to turnovers this year. UNI ruined our season last year at least our shot at a #2 seed in the playoffs, so I am hoping we return the favor this year!

YSU needs the win to keep their playoff hopes alive. A loss here would be a killer.

YSU being up against the wall scares me. On the other hand, if we play as well as we are capable of playing, I don't think anyone beats us. Hard game to call. Hope we show up ready to go.

Bottom Line: YSU will pull out all the guns on Saturday and Tom Zetts will have the game of his life to save his only shot at the playoffs for the 2007 season. If they can pull one off vs. the #1 team in the Nation, I feel they have a much easier path to getting to the playoffs than any other 8-3 team in the nation.

GO PENGUINS
BEAT THE PANTHERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Agreed. If UNI can pull out the win, I think they have the easiest path of the undefeated teams to an undefeated season.

don't say that. Steve Spurrier had never lost to Vanderbilt before last weekend.

Not sure if some of your guys teams do this, but this past week YSU has had their practices with the stadium audio at 100% FULL BLAST for well over 2-3 hours for each practice. They did this in week 1 for Ohio State and last year for Penn State, but this is the first time I can recall them doing it vs. a I-AA Team.

It was extremely loud.. One thing you guys gotta realize is, in the last 3 years to trips at OSU-PSU-PITT; YSU has had Less Procedure penalties on the line than their bigger opponents, I think they only had 1 at Ohio State this year. What is the difference here is allowing the crowd get into it early.

Kill the hope early. GO YSU

The Salukis did some similar prep for the game. Penalties were not the problem. Calling an audible at the line of scrimmage was about impossible, though.

YSU wins on a last second 45 yard field goal from the foot of Brian Palmer 25-24.
But this is how it will play out.

Palmer will go out and kick a 50 yarder- MISS but he gets ROUGHED by a UNI player trying to block the kick, and he moves 5 yards up and drills it the 2nd time from 45 to get YSU the win!

UNI fans, Does this sound familiar to you guys at all???? Hint Hint Hint: 2004 @ YSU!

Actually my heart says YSU like above, but my head says UNI by 10.

Forget about the noise. The Cats have been practicing in an 83 degree UNI-Dome while the Pens work outside. The latter will feel good until about the middle of the second quarter. After that, it will be a sauna and they will wilt.

So far my weekend is off on the right foot. My High School alumni, Youngstown Ursuline, had to win last night to make the Ohio HS Playoffs and to host a home game at YSU Stambaugh Stadium last week, and they won 33-30 in OT. They defeated LeBron James alumni in Akron, the other "Irish" school, Akron St. Vincent St. Mary. BTW... Ursuline was supposedly a big underdog in this game in Downtown Akron.

Kinda like YSU this afternoon!! GO PENGUINS
