Western state, you Griz people have got to be embarresed.Your AD should be fired for taking this game.SUUTbird wrote:Only 10-0 at the half?
Your grade school teachers should be fired for that EMBARRASSING typo.mass fan wrote:Western state, you Griz people have got to be embarresed.Your AD should be fired for taking this game.SUUTbird wrote:Only 10-0 at the half?
Could you explain this to me please..?mass fan wrote:Western state, you Griz people have got to be embarresed.Your AD should be fired for taking this game.SUUTbird wrote:Only 10-0 at the half?
Agree...over the top....however, how does every other big time FCS program seem to find a money game to make themselves better both on and off the field (Weber vs Wyoming, App vs ECU, UR vs Duke, El Cid vs UNC, UNI vs Iowa, YSU vs Pitt, etc, etc), yet, Montana schedules Western State. And who did UM open with last year? Colorado School of Mining or something?...........just sayin'....Chizzang wrote:Could you explain this to me please..?mass fan wrote: Western state, you Griz people have got to be embarresed.Your AD should be fired for taking this game.
I'm not smart enough to understand where you're going with this statement
BTW: The final score was 38-0
but anyway... please explain why the AD should be fired
I know - Montana should be banned from the National Championship game this year...Appaholic wrote:Agree...over the top....however, how does every other big time FCS program seem to find a money game to make themselves better both on and off the field (Weber vs Wyoming, App vs ECU, UR vs Duke, El Cid vs UNC, UNI vs Iowa, YSU vs Pitt, etc, etc), yet, Montana schedules Western State. Newsflash: we make more money, and get dinged up less, by playing teams like Western State at home (as opposed to an FBS team). When you're selling 25,600 tickets for a game where you're paying the team less than 500k (I assume), that's just good business.Appaholic wrote:Agree...over the top....however, how does every other big time FCS program seem to find a money game to make themselves better both on and off the field (Weber vs Wyoming, App vs ECU, UR vs Duke, El Cid vs UNC, UNI vs Iowa, YSU vs Pitt, etc, etc), yet, Montana schedules Western State. So, it's just about money? or protecting your players? Sorry, to consistently play at a high level, you need to play the high level competition....what are you learning about your team by playing Western State?Grizalltheway wrote:Newsflash: we make more money, and get dinged up less, by playing teams like Western State at home (as opposed to an FBS team). Doesn't your weak schedule effectively do that when meeting tougher competiton in the playoffs?Chizzang wrote:I know - Montana should be banned from the National Championship game this year...Appaholic wrote:

Well considering we shuffled three QBs through the first half when we are still looking at finding a starter, we learned quite a bit. And RE: Last year, we opened on the road at Cal Poly, a top 25 FCS team.....Appaholic wrote:So, it's just about money? or protecting your players? ...Tougher competition as in the national champion?Appaholic wrote:Doesn't your weak schedule effectively do that when meeting tougher competiton in the playoffs?Chizzang wrote:

I agree Appa, for instance we are playing San Diego State and Utah State this year as we are continuing to try and get better. (And Just a heads up they opened @ Cal Poly Last year, i know it surprised me to). It is good and all that you guys get alot of money from your home games but still...Western State? So, it's just about money? or protecting your players? That's right....my bad....Cal Poly is a tough draw on the road....I was thinking of Ft Lewis in 2007....I'll shut upDuckDuckGriz wrote:Well considering we shuffled three QBs through the first half when we are still looking at finding a starter, we learned quite a bit. C'mon Chizzang....you're taking my ramblings serious now....Chizzang wrote:and beat James Madison on the roadDuckDuckGriz wrote:

When Montana has a crappy season I'll start buying into this age old argument - until then it just seems like sour grapes and uninformed sports analogies...Appaholic wrote:That's right....my bad....Cal Poly is a tough draw on the road....I was thinking of Ft Lewis in 2007....I'll shut upDuckDuckGriz wrote:

Ahhhh....stirring up the ire of Griz fans....my work here is complete...DuckDuckGriz wrote:...Tougher competition as in the national champion?Appaholic wrote:

App. State 0-1Appaholic wrote:Ahhhh....stirring up the ire of Griz fans....my work here is complete...DuckDuckGriz wrote:

01 - Idaho (FBS), Hawaii (FBS)SUUTbird wrote:I agree Appa, for instance we are playing San Diego State and Utah State this year as we are continuing to try and get better. I cant begin to tell you how cool it would be to see the Griz take on Wyoming, Utah State, Utah, ect. some years. And as to reffer to players getting injured compared to those teams the talent level is pretty equal meaning not as much risk for injuries. Its kinda like the theory of having a very nice mountain bike but your afraid to take it off road so you stick to your driveway...So, it's just about money? or protecting your players? Speaking of uninformed sports analogies.....East Carolina was a top 20 program with victories over Virginia Tech & West Virginia in case you folks in Missoula were wondering....and they're not West Carolina...because they're in the eastern part of the state....just in case there was some confusion during the griz game discussions.....Chizzang wrote:When Montana has a crappy season I'll start buying into this age old argument - until then it just seems like sour grapes and uninformed sports analogies...Appaholic wrote:

Wait now be consistent - so we have to have ALL playup games and no drop-downs? Good luck finding any other FCS program that does that.SUUTbird wrote:Was talking about more towards this year with Western State, Central Washington Last year (even though they gave you a great game) and Ft. Lewis the year before.
