Time for the kickoff. Can ODU stay undefeated as they play their first FCS team?

I hate the PFL. Go ODU. Last I saw they were down 1 score.

So far the offense is having a difficult time getting in sync today. Currently down 13-0 about midway through the 2nd quarter. It sounds like the combination of a first road game, first game on grass, and the heat are all doing a number of on the Big Blue. It has been a battle of field position in the 2nd quarter so far. The bright spot has been the Monarchs punting game and defense.

More than just a part of me think your obsession with epileptic, buck-toothed gerbils is disturbing.

JU is faster. We need to grind it out for any chance of success.

ODU drives 91 yards just when it starts to rain for the game winning TD!! Amazing. Jacksonville led the entire game but the Monarchs never gave up. First road game, first FCS game, first game on grass, first game in the heat, first game trainling, first game winning two munute drive!!!!

The final ODU drive was 91 yards, 10 plays in 45 seconds...hey this football stuff is realy fun. :thumb:

I didn't think we would get this win, it's the first home lost for Jacksonville in two years. 10-1

Almost half the ODU team had never been to Fla, I guess they'll remember their first trip.

Despite the victory, I believe reality IS setting in. IMO, there was a big difference between Jacksonville and our DII opponents. We made a lot of mistakes (penalties). We had difficulty stopping drives on 3rd down in the first half. We thought our strength was our secondary, but they got picked apart early and often. And our receivers could not get open against the speed of the JU secondary. But we gutted this one out like seasoned veterans. With each game comes lessons. My guess is that we learned a lot with this game; who we are, and where we stand. But it's always better to learn lessons from a win than a loss.

FWIW, the Virginia Pilot is reporting 1000 Monarchs showed up to support the team in Jacksonville, which is 1/5th of the tickets sold! Can you confirm that Monarch Nation?

Congrats, ODU!!

The Monarchs are very close to knocking GSU/ASU out of 2nd place on Grizo's Favorite Team list!

Again, nice job, guys!! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Monmouth is going to be a tougher test - first team ODU will play in FCS with schollies.

Sinisi is a great RB.
