Week 10 - Bracket Extravaganza

Post by Mvemjsunpx »

Here is this week's bracket. One quick note: there's a 3-way tie for first in the CAA; Delaware beats out Richmond in the South division on common games against Towson, but the Delaware-UMass tie would currently come down to a CAA committee vote; I then gave Delaware the current auto-bid simply because I ranked them higher.

Here are my bracket's disclaimers:

1. These are the teams I think should be in the field & how they should be seeded, not necessarily who I think the committee will choose.
2. This bracket is based what would happen if the playoffs started today. I'm not attempting to predict future games.
3. I use a points system to determine playoff credentials (that's what the "+#" & "-#" next to the teams in the power rankings are). You can find an explanation of my system in this thread: http://www.championshipsubdivision.com/ ... ?f=4&t=877.

I'm going to stand by my prediction that an 8-3 EWU team gets in over JMU or one of the SoCon teams.

what are you basing your prediction on?
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.

the fact that it's been 9 years since the BSC did NOT get 2 teams in, regionalization, and a team (EWU) that lost to an FBS, the #2-4 team (pick your placement) in the FCS, and one bad loss to PSU.

I am a Montana fan, but that has no bearing on my bracket.

It seemed a little strange even to me to end up having App. St. @ #2, but their +/- score shows they have deserving credentials, even with 2 FCS losses. And remember, the Mountaineers got a #2 seed in 2005 with an 8-3 record.
