This keeps up, the MEAC champ will be heading to an altitudinous SoCon team...IMHO

SDSU beats SUU 52-27, making SDSU undefeated in the GWFC. If NDSU wins tonight against Cal-Poly the conference championship will be on the line next weekend when NDSU visits brookings.

BTW, SUU put up a hell of a fight and were up 20-16 at the half.

The officials tried their darndest to steal one from Furman and hand it to Georgia Southern on a silver platter. But a questionable decision to run the clock down to the end for a flaky kicker from a hash doomed that bid. The Eagles should have taken a couple of shots at the end zone or at least centered the ball.

Just goes to show that when you're presented a gift by the officials, it's still incumbent upon you to take advantage of it. GSU didn't, and thereby failed to lock up the SoCon today.

EDIT -->> Oops! Almost forgot. Furman wins 24-22.

YSU- 31
WIU- 24

YSU held off a late Leatherneck run in the 4th quarter to win. It is tough to see this be the last game for the Penguins this year who will end up 7-4 [3-3 in the Gateway, likely finishing in 3rd place in the Conference]. Those 3 losses were games they had leads of 10-0, 10-0, 13-0 in, only to blow all 3. It is a shame to see such a solid team end like this..

Go Gateway!
GO YSU

It was a tough season for the Penguins. The three conference losses were by 7, 5 and 1 point. The margin for error in the Gateway is thin.
