Hi, I have a small sports simulation website that generates a box score and player stats for most sports. I've just recently added FCS teams for 2009. Here is a sample game.
http://nationalsportsrankings.com/jooml ... magic=1182
Hit play again for a different result each time. Users can also play in tournaments, seasons and leagues, as well editing rosters and teams.
I thought some may be interested. thanks for taking a look.

This is a fun little program...I'm curious as to how it generally works. Bookmarked for sure.

DJH, I think I have No. Iowa as the top rated team in FCS, but with the small random component thrown in the mix for the simulation and playing on the road at Richmond, sometimes they may not have their "best" performance. They are very good team this year.

Teams are ranked by won/loss record, strength of schedule, and opponents played. That is the main ingredient for the outcome. There is a random component part of the equation, just to generate a different result each time. Just as if they played under different conditions and multiple times.
It's not perfect, but it's something to check out when comparing the two divisions. Any suggestions or comments I'm always open to new ideas and features.

Very cool man! I bookmarked it as well. I didn't see Sacramento State on the list?

Got it. I need to see what the score is gonna be this weekend! That will add hours of fun to my week but I can't test the older teams against the neo teams. Is this a dbase in progress that will be adding historical stats?

Just for shits and grins, I put NDSU up against Montana, in Fargo. Montana won 6 times in a row by 14 or more.

Do the 25 game series. I just did it with Sac St. at home and it gave 25 out of 25 to the Griz. I also did a 25 gamer with EWU at Montana and Montana won 19 out of 25.

Database is a work in progress. I can probably add a bunch of the older FCS teams, they just won't have accurate player names and stats like 2009. That takes some time to compile, as well as tracking down the stats in a workable format to transfer. ESPN.com was great for 2009, and it looks like I can get the player stats for teams back through 2004. Any specific teams let me know and I'll add them or any links to older stats would be great.
Someday I hope to add every team with accurate player names and stats, it's just going to take some time.

Montana all I wanted to see was 1995 and 2001 for the NC years. What format would work best for you for the stats, and so forth?

I didn't wanna take the time to fix the spacing for all 25 games.
Montana(2009) wins 21 of 25 matchups against North Dakota St(2009)
Montana(2008) wins 19 of 25 matchups against North Dakota St.(2008)
Montana(2007) wins 18 of 25 matchups against North Dakota St.(2007)
Montana(2006) wins 15 of 25 matchups against North Dakota St.(2006)

ursus, post the link if you have it for stats, and I can take a look at it. I'll figure something out.
I basically need something similar to this
http://espn.go.com/ncf/teams/stats?teamId=149
Basic stats, passing, rushing, team totals. I can add defensive names if you have a roster/positions/stats as well.

I got Old Dominion 28 James Madison 24
Sounds like a vision of the near future. Stop work on that stadium expansion. There's a storm brewing in Norfolk and it is headed to Harrisonburg.

If anyone wants their teams full season set up let me know, I'll create a link like this one below. (South Dakota St). (it takes 10-20 seconds to load the first time, but it's worth the wait). you can also just hit refresh on your brower to run it over and over again after the inital loading, or advance to the playoffs. You can choose your format for games and teams.
http://nationalsportsrankings.com/jooml ... magic=1187
You can also view the stats from each individual game using this feature.

Man all they have is pdf but the stats are pretty sweet. You have to go to the end of the pdf for the season stats so it may be more work than you'd like to do. It was great taking that walk down memory lane anyway.
here's a link to the old stats and so forth.
