Difficult to win in Missoula when you are down two starters. :ohno:

Four freshmen started. If you weren't going to win THIS one, it's gonna be a while, bro.

Only one Griz freshman started (Vazquez). Only 3 even play extensively since Egun's barely seeing the court now.

On the plus side, Gaskin will also be a sophomore next year… assuming he doesn't bolt like Miller did.

This team is LOADED for the next several years.

Take this group, take away Pridgett (big loss, sure), but next season GRIZ bigs will be: Steadman, Henderson, Anderson, Yagi, Owens, Carter Hollinger, and Bannan. That is 7 post players of various skills. All of which are worthy of being consistent contributors. This will be the deepest the GRIZ have ever been in the paint, to my knowledge at least.

The GRIZ backcourt will be: Gaskin, Falls, Vasquez, Egun, Brown, Clarke, Beasley, and Whitney. That is 8 quality guards. We already know how terrific DeCuire led guards play. The GRIZ will truly be even deeper at guard than prior years.

Bolded names either starters or getting significant minutes THIS year.

1/16 Scores

Postby Mvemjsunpx » Fri Jan 17, 2020 1:28 am

    Men

EWU 78-75 IDA; Eastern made fewer shots and fewer FTs, but they won because they made 8 more treys
WEB 76-68 ISU (OT); Idaho St. led by 7 at the half, but it should've been more because they went 2/8 on FTs
NAU 75-72 SUU; Lumberjacks win turnovers 17-8
SAC 52-71 UNC; Hornets shoot 31% in the second half

    Women

UNC 73-63 SAC; Bears win the boards 50-34
EWU 60-69 IDA; The Eagles have made 10+ treys 6 times this season, but they are 1-5 in those games
    ISU 65-54 WEB; Callie Bourne goes 10/14 and scores a career-high 26
    SUU 76-84 NAU; The 'Jacks shoot a season-high 52%

Well, that promising pre-season sure seems to have gone into the tank. SMH....

Montana wins despite making something like .08% of their baskets.

Montana and Idaho both made 43.1% of their shots; problem was Idaho led 3pt shooting 60-35%.

But, as expected, Samuelson led the Griz in points tonight.

The Griz freshmen are on their way, but incredibly thankful we have Pridgett and Samuelson.

Also I read on ESPN this was the 1000th home court win for the Griz.

I also heard this on Pluto TV, pretty cool statistic.
