How to choose jersey numbers for basketball players? I'm doing a project which includes choosing basketball players and their salaries. I need to pick their jersey numbers, but I don't know how. I'm not really good at basketball, so does it matter what number goes out to who?

No. I have saw big guys that wear really low numbers and small guys that wear 50's.
High school, at least in Iowa, there is a "set" way...guards lower and bigs higher.
I don't think any number over 5 is allowed though, except the NBA, because the ref has to be able to signal on one hand.
