Loree Payne Gone from NAU

Post by Mvemjsunpx »

Less than 24 hours after her team blew a 14-point lead with less than 3 minutes left in a WBIT loss, Loree Payne has left Flagstaff and will be the head coach at Santa Clara. Ironically, this is also where JR Payne (no relation, AFAIK) went when she left Southern Utah in 2014 (JR is now at Colorado). Loree Payne was NAU's all-time winningest coach with a record of 136-116.

NAU WBB Hires Laura Dinkins.

Post by Mvemjsunpx »

If that name sounds vaguely familiar, it's because Dinkins played for NAU back in the 2000s during the peak of Laurie Kelly's tenure (including their lone NCAA appearance in 2006). Dinkins was the top assistant at Grand Canyon the last 2 years, and she was an assistant at Long Beach and Fresno State before that.

O'Neal Family Headed to Sac State

Post by Mvemjsunpx »

Shaq will now be the Hornets' General Manager, whatever that is for a college team. His son, Shaqir, has already transferred to Sac from Florida A&M.
