WCU clinches back to back winning seasons....
....for the 1st time since 1995-96 and 1996-97 seasons. Beat Samford today in B'ham 62-50. 17-5 overall, 7-3 SoCon. 2 home games this upcoming week. GSU on Thursday, ASU on Saturday, both 7pm.
Kudos Coach Hunter, staff, and players!

Congrats - get ready for another beatdown Saturday from the Apps, but you're used to that.

says the man who has attended ONE ASU hoops contest in his entire life. I plan on being there, should be a packed house.ASUG8 wrote:Congrats - get ready for another beatdown Saturday from the Apps, but you're used to that.

We aren't good, so expectations are low. We beat your good team once already, we'll see if the Catamount Nation can pull one out against us next weekend.
Seriously, the Cats look good this season. Hope you do well (I just had to look it up on Yahoo to see where ASU hoops stand).

agreed. The whole conference is good this year, even the down teams. Heck, GSU has beaten us and ASU so you gotta bring it each contest.youngterrier wrote:The socon is good this season, Wofford is a game away fromtheir second straight winning season too

You're much calmer here than on the Cantamount board. Some guys on there are easy to rile up. It's a shame, but the highlight of this season may be beating West Carolina and Davidson...ASU still struggles with being consistent.catamount man wrote:says the man who has attended ONE ASU hoops contest in his entire life. well, when conversations on a CATAMOUNT board suddenly get taken over by 2 or more ASU folks between themselves no less, that's just a basic rudeness which should never be tolerated. I certainly would not do that to the folks at the mountaineer message board. don't worry, I and I hope others have contacted the board overseer.ASUMountaineer wrote:You're much calmer here than on the Cantamount board. Yeah, it seems the same CANTAMOUNT posters get into it with the ASU rabblerousers. There's some baiting going on. I think it's funny to read. I don't post much over there, but I like to read up on the happenings of Cullowhee High.catamount man wrote:well, when conversations on a CATAMOUNT board suddenly get taken over by 2 or more ASU folks between themselves no less, that's just a basic rudeness which should never be tolerated. You can't just not read the posts? I do post ocassionally on the Cantamount Pride...guess you have me on ignore too. I don't get into it with the bashing going on. I do laugh at it though...it's funny. I've never put anyone on ignore on any board...never seemed that bad to me.catamount man wrote:most of us have put all the ASU guys on ignore. Hey CM, I don't know if this name will mean anything to you or not, but I got to play against Stacy Ervin last week. He was an All-SoCon frosh at WCU before transferring after his soph year (new coach). At one time he held the state high school scoring record in Va.
And, he's still the shizzle. My team lost 64-61 and I swear he had at least 40 points. We stopped guarding everybody else and he was still draining threes.

Yep, ole Stacy and Jarvis Hayes were at WCU in 1999 but left after our former brain of an AD Jeff Compher decided to fire Phil Hopkins and replace him with Steve Shurina. Had Phil been left alone with what he had to play with, WCU basketball would've been the bomb in the early 2000s. Shurina went 48-97 in 5 years, Compher left, and now we have WCU hoops back on track. Glad Stacy is doing well.

Big win for ASU...but, let's see if they can keep it up...consistency has been the biggest problem all season.

Re: WCU clinches back to back winning seasons....
I didn't even bother to listen to. Been down this road enough to know. I am having a good day thanks to an individual very close to me in my life who has helped snapped me out of the major funk that I have been going through ever since losing my job 3 months ago. I am hoping that I have what it takes now to pull myself back out of my mental mire and gain focus on what it is I do good, not what I do bad. Sorry to rant and get the thread off track, but another loss to ASU in anything is no longer going to effect me. Those days are gone.appiaa wrote:Great game.. I will just have to live with the fact that you guys pretty much own us in everything except baseball. But this doesn't devalue WCU and its purpose for higher education at all in my eyes. Again, congrats.

Just not too many. I think here lately I may be drinking too much. Not gonna drink at all this evening. Taking it one day at a time.proasu89 wrote:catamount man wrote:
