Re: Everything Women's Basketball 2012-2013
UOP super soph Kendall Kenyon JUST MISSED becoming the first Tiger EVER to record a triple-double in tonight's 60-51 home win over Cal State Northridge. The forward netted 19 points, grabbed 22 boards, and blocked 8 shots. The 8 shots are a school record, and the 22 rebounds are what the school is calling a "modern era" record, which I presume refers to the NCAA's 1981 takeover of women's athletics. UOP hasn't seen a 20-board performance since 1991, and 1984-85 is the last time the school saw a 22-board effort. The all-time school record is 28 set in 1977 against Cal State Hayward (now Cal State East Bay). Also joining the UOP glory fest was senior guard Erica McKenzie, who's game-opening triple landed her in the 1,000-point club. UOP (14-3, 4-1 Big West) is now tied with Cal Poly atop the Big West standings.
The Lady Tigers are on fire, while their male counterparts seem to be wasting their long-time head coach's last season spinning their wheels....
In other SH-Land action, Sac State topped the century mark with a 103-60 rout of Weber State at the Hornets Nest. This is the ninth time the Lady Hornets have gone into three-digit land, and this is the largest margin of victory in program history against a D-I opponent. Sac never trailed, and all dozen Hornets who set foot on the court scored at least one point and pulled in at least one rebound. Junior guard Alle Moreno led the way with 24 points. Sac set a school record with 41 field goals and tied another with 30 assists. The Hornets (9-7, 4-3 Big Sky) now sit tied for fifth in conference with Northern Colorardo.
RSR forward/center Tolu Omotola's fifth double-double of the season (15 pts, 11 boards) and a team +27 rebounding margin led Liberty to a 65-58 win over Campbell this afternoon at the Vines Center. Defense was key as Campbell was held to just over 11% from the land of three. Liberty (14-6, 6-2 Big South) is now a half-game back of Big South-leading Longwood.

Re: Everything Women's Basketball 2012-2013
UOP's Double-Double Machine, supersoph Kendall Kenyon, did it again tonight, her fifth in a row (16 pts/19 boards) in a 69-53 win over Long Beach State at Spanos Center this afternoon. The Tigers recorded 18 steals, one off their season high. UOP improves to 18-3, 8-1 Big West. LBSU falls to 11-10, 4-5 Big West. Tonight was Pacific Plays Pink Night to support breast cancer research.
Sac State soph PG Fantasia Hilliard had an impressive double-double of her own, just missing a quadruple-double with 26 points, 10 assists, 8 rebounds, and 8 steals. The near-quadruple-double made fans almost forget about Hornet Kylie Kuhn's double-double (11 pts, 13 rebs, 8 assists). The Hornets (12-8, 7-4 Big Sky) downed Southern Utah (10-10, 5-5 Big Sky) 93-86 at the Hornets' Nest.
Liberty came back from a 15-point halftime deficit to beat High Point 67-59 on the road. The comeback was spurred by RSR F/C Tolu Omotola, who posted 17 of her game-high 22 points after the intermission. This was the Flames' eighth straight road win and seventh in a row at High Point's Mills Center, and came despite Panther Cheyenne Parker's double-double (17 pts, 12 rebs, 6 blocks). Liberty raised its record to 17-6, 9-2 Big South. High Point dropped to 12-9, 6-4 Big South.

Delaware sits atop the latest ESPN Mid-Major Top Ten. UOP just kicked in the door for the first time this year at #9, ahead of future conference chum (?) #10 Gonzaga.
The only other FCS school is #5 TN-Chattanooga. All other schools in this poll are either low-FBS or I-AAA.
