I think Tenn will get one of those bids after what they did to big brother UK and that 30 pt beatdown they delivered. They may end up being the best that the SEC has to offer with Ole Miss bringing up the rear.I feel that the small school that plays Tenn,Ole Miss in the first round could pull a stunning upset.eagleskins wrote:SEC is awful. Which they shouldn't because it only proves how bad Kentucky is without Noel. It would be a travesty should they get in but that's what the NCAA is best at.dal4018 wrote:I think Tenn will get one of those bids after what they did to big brother UK and that 30 pt beatdown they delivered. They may end up being the best that the SEC has to offer with Ole Miss bringing up the rear.I feel that the small school that plays Tenn,Ole Miss in the first round could pull a stunning upset.eagleskins wrote:SEC is awful. Re: March Madness!!!
Florida, Missouri, Ole Miss, and yes, Kentucky should all get in...if the tournament starts today. For those not in the know, Ole Miss is actually decent this year. They don't have a ton of great wins, but more importantly, they don't have any awful losses. Kentucky still has a little work to do, but I think they're still one of the 30 best non-conference tournament winning teams out there come March 17. Their schedule sets up nicely down the stretch. They get their 2 toughest games, Missouri and Florida at home. Their 2 roadies left are at Arkansas and at Georgia. (Both W's, I'd guess.) Throw in 2 gimmes against Mississippi State and Vandy at home and the Cats will dance again...and get crushed in the first round.eagleskins wrote:SEC is awful. Re: March Madness!!!
What a stupid argument. A&M has been in the SEC for one year. They haven't won a single SEC postseason game in a major sport yet. They have no SEC conference titles yet (that I know of). No, they are not a "SEC power."dal4018 wrote:Tell that to Nick Saban!!!rkwittem wrote: "SEC power" and Texas A&M do not belong in the same sentence. (Not even for football.)
And Joe Lunardi has Southern as a 16 seed playing in the first four against Bryant. Good luck against Duke/Miami/Indiana/Michigan State/Kansas/Florida/etc

Forgot about Florida they are the only SEC team playing well blowing teams out by double digits.Yeah Missouri,Ole Miss are playing solid ball as well.Hate to say it but yes Kentucky will get in.rkwittem wrote:Florida, Missouri, Ole Miss, and yes, Kentucky should all get in...if the tournament starts today. Why is that a stupid argument they beat the national champs in their backyard with a redshirt frosh QB that won the Heisman because of that one game!!!! Well Lunardi isn't apart of the NCAA I think they might get a 15 seed.rkwittem wrote:What a stupid argument. A&M has been in the SEC for one year. Re: March Madness!!!
Ole Miss' RPI is what's helping them, they needed a huge effort from the refs to get past Georgia on Saturday and they've kind of fell back to the pack.rkwittem wrote:Florida, Missouri, Ole Miss, and yes, Kentucky should all get in...if the tournament starts today. Also Missouri has been a horrible road team this year, I expected better from them.
I think the SEC gets three, unless someone makes a run and wins the SEC tourney.

I don't see us as a 15, the league isn't strong enough to warrant it. We only have one team with an overall winning record. After 6 years of sitting on the side, I just want to dance.dal4018 wrote:Why is that a stupid argument they beat the national champs in their backyard with a redshirt frosh QB that won the Heisman because of that one game!!!! Kentucky shouldn't get in.
Southern will be a 16 seed - likely still a playin game.
The SWAC is still many rungs below the rest of DI

until we win more games that's where we'll be. 3 of our 6 Non conference losses were by 7 or less. We should have won each of those. Then we may have been in better position.dbackjon wrote:Kentucky shouldn't get in.

Okay point taken hey left you a email.Hey maybe Southern could make history nobody in the men's tournament as a 16 seed has advanced to the next round.Only Harvard's women has pulled the trick and they did it at the expense of Stanford.tampajag wrote:I don't see us as a 15, the league isn't strong enough to warrant it. Re: March Madness!!!
Na still 17-10. I posted after the Rutgers game was over. I say they go 2-2 and have to sweat their asses off on selection sunday. Serves them right for losing to Colombia, my god.Needless to say if Nova wants to impress the committee they will have to win all four games but I think they will go 0-4 and get left on the sidelines and head for the NIT!!!!! Nova beat Rutgers 71-63 18-10!!!! heard the score on the radio.

yep, and imo they shouldn't make it into the tourney. Too inconsistent this year. But the bright side is this team has crazy potential in coming years!

Jag just came from the school's website they will probably feature a guy named Corey Law a 6-6 215 guard that is a darkhorse candidate for ESPNs College 3pt/Slam Dunk contest.Mr Miller will need to play him some attention if they meet.tampajag wrote:Been looking at some bracketology posts, seeing High Point mentioned as a play in game potential oppenent for SU. StonyBrook has been mentioned as 13 seed in one of three regionals - Mid West against Syracuse ? West against Arizona or East agianst Louisville. I would take Arizona probably the weakest of the 3. But we have to get ther first -lol

Southern picks up win #20 beating Alcorn on Saturday 61-48. First 20 win regular season since the 90's. The Jaguar basketball program has come a long way only two years ago they won 3 games.

Three questions:
1) Does Gonzaga get a 1 seed if they win out? Not a great conference, but their only two losses are to Illinois and Butler and they are absolutely steamrolling everybody right now.
2) Does St. Maries get in? Much weaker schedule than the Zags but still...
3) Chances of Montana facing GU in the first round?
(Piss off EWU fans, I'm still following us too.

2) yes, the WCC is at least a two bid league now
3) seeing the Griz projected as a 15 so they could if the Zags don't get a one seed
