University of the Pacific just brought on board Montana State associate head coach Amy Starr as an assistant coach under newly promoted head man Bradley Davis. Starr spent ten years in Bozeman, the last seven as associate HC with recruiting, defense, and post players in her portfolio. Where Starr fits on the UOP staff with remaining assistant Amy VanHollebeke, a former Tigers star likely destined for the school HOF, remains up in the air. One empty assistant job remains after previous HC Lynne Roberts bailed for greener pastures at Utah, but rumors are swirling that the department may devolve those responsibilities among the current staff and delete the position. That does not bode well given today's phase-out of the Assistant AD for Communications in charge of the Sports Information Department after serving 28 years in Stockton.

MSU hasn't reacted to this yet, but a quick look at the rest of the staff in Bozo brings up something weird. One of the other assistants spent six years as HC at Gonzaga, a perennial NCAA Tournament program. I wonder how THAT happened....

That's because she was the coach before Gonzaga became a perennial NCAA Tournament team.

Sorry..I was eating....What am I suppose to be mad about? Our B-ball programs are not good. Girls did beat the griz in Bozeman to end the year on somewhat of a positive note.
